I was going to machine the rotors to fit but the whole setup costs $600 more and when machined will give only 4mm thicker and 8mm or so larger diameter. What do you think? machined they will be I estimate 330x32 opposed to the NA 322x28, the rears are the same so it comes down to will it be $600 better or would I be better off sticking to the BF/NA Terri brakes?

Here are some pics to show the difference in the TT rotors v BA rotors. The left is the stock BA then the 340x32 TT front then the 328x26 rear. You can also see the difference in the thickness and the hats

I saw pics of a blue Territory with 22" dirty dogs - it looked fantastic

The Territory spindles are totally different to the falcons so that's a non starter. "so with the caliper in place the rotor is not centreilised... is that right? is the a bracket or plate you could modify from the hub to allow the caliper to sit further out??? " No the problem is, with the rotors on the caliper will not even reach the bolt holes to bolt to the spindle - the rotor is too large, or the mounting holes for the caliper are too low. The TT must had different spindles to the NA Territory specially to take the bigger rotors. The holes are very close, but there also needs to be clearance for the ouside edge of the rotor in the caliper so maybe only 5mm in it. The rotor would be centred in the caliper if it fit. The breaker is still closed so I have to wait. I am going to try test fitting them again as I figure that I could just have the rotors machined to 335, 330mm or whatever is the largest diameter I could get to fit. Not exactly straight a bolt on fix like I was hoping for. A bit of a worry when it's time to buy new rotors.

I put 9.5" rims on the front and it was a bit of a mission to get everything to clear nicely, they were fouling on the uprights of the spindle and I ended machining 5mm from the inside J lip to have them fit, and a little grinder action on the upright. Then rolled the guards and had my Dobisons SSL stretched 10mm and retempered. it looks fairly good, but a bit drift car ish with a 19/245/35 on. that's with a 35 offset, there is bound to be a better way to do it, if I was to do it again I'm putting 8.5" wide on the front, just less hassle.

Good point, I'll check them out when I get back to the wreckers and see if they look doable
-
The BF and the NA territory are the same size - looked in the DBA catalog and the rotors are exactly the same. The guy I bought the TT brakes from is gonna swap them for the NA ones so I'll see how they go. Just a pity to change the fronts as I already put new rotors and pads on, still the BF setup has to be better.
-
They'd take a smaller rotor maybe a 325/32mm or a 330/32mm just that 340/32mm isn't going to fit.
-
Well it turns out you cant run the turbo territory fronts on a BA mk1 the calipers match the holes and fit on their own but with the rotor in place the calipers cant be lined up with the mounting holes. I could get smaller rotors, but it kind of defeats the purpose. The TT must have slighty different spindles as the holes are at least 2mm out with the rotors on. I'll have to see if I can swap them for a set of NA Terri brakes, hopefully they'll fit, maybe they'd fit a BF.

They look sweet - yep you do have to do the brakes now though as they are on show big time
-
Could you get 24" on a TT? - I recon it's probably an F150

Cheers Doolz, I pick them up tommorow so will be able to tell you definitively very soon if they go on with no dramas. My only concern is the Dobisons springs I have are so low with the 9.5" wide 19" front wheels they are so close to fouling inside on the suspension spindle upright, and outside the tyres nearly catch the rolled guards. 5mm in either direction and it won't work for me without new springs. The rears also 9.5" 19 have maybe 4mm outside before they catch the guards, these could be rolled. I'll let you know
-
Anyone? I cant be the first one to actually do this?
-
Hi Guys, I know this is an old thread but it is exactly what I was looking for - I have got a complete set of turbo territory brakes from a wrecker at a good price - Did anyone else end up putting these on? I wanna know if they had any issues with them going on. I have 19" wheels with a standard 35 offset so they shouldn't give me grief. The rears rotors come close to the inside deflecters from what I've read. How about the fronts, any issues? How do they rate as stoppers. Did you change master cylinders etc. Currently I have dba 4000 rotors and ferodo ds2000 pads on factory front calipers and stock rears. Any info going into the conversion would be cool. Dan

Installing A Double Din Head Unit Into A Ba
apache_dj replied to shaunmc's topic in Audio/Visual Workshop
I think this is the pic you were looking for, I like what they've done. moving the factory screen to the tissue box area leaving a nice big area to mount your double din. Doesn't look easy however, if you're comfortable with fibreglassing it could be awesome -
why not, as a gimick? Sure they're ugly but they cant make the aerodynamics much worse. I dont see it as a whole lot different to the rear wing off argument just personal taste
-
I reckon just paint the bracket black and the grill makes it look awesome
-
OK just the brakets and run the standard calipers with the larger rotors?
-
I know this will probably get me flamed by the "gotta have the badges" crowd. But You could always leave the ford badge off the new front end, it looks cool without it, everyone knows its a ford but it looks more unique without the huge logo.
-
So all I need is the C5 claipers and they will be a direct bolt on and I can run 355mm rotors, cool. You gotta laugh that our cars didn't come with 4pots standard loads of the little light weight jap cars do. I've already changed rotors to slotted front and rear and pads to Ferodos looking for better braking and I'm still not completely happy. But I cant afford the Brembos.

I'm with Toxic Beast on this if you have a yoot they look and sound tuff with the side exit exhaust. Two mates have gone this track with BA XR8s and removed the mufflers - now they sound the way a V8 should.
-
This time it's threadlocked well and truly so it should be good. Must get a lot of vibration and expansion, contraction there.

Mine was gone after about 1500Km - I've replaced it twice and still lost those as well
-
No problem - it can really make a big difference. Good luck with the tune
