I am very tempted, this guy was recommended by Simon at Nizpro as he has attended the tuning courses they've run and has great reviews form other car owners, I think my car may be a lemon. Am looking at putting it back to stock and selling, then buy another T. I have kept all the bits just in case.

Went for a drive in it today, AAARGH its horrible, the thing is a million times worse than when I took it in, it is so rough. Even idles rough at times, makes a paltry 256RWKW at best at 10psi but half the time when you put the pedal down it drops a couple of cylinders and sounds like a tractor. The tuner has had it for 8 days and it is so bad I dont want it back, he keeps telling me he;ll try this and that and when I asked he hasnt done anything. Some times though its fine??? The missing scares me, as that's new and it drops those cylinders so often.

Hi Bloosted, Didnt the burned out wire show on the ECU as a fault somehow? I could live with this as just finding it would be a step in the right direction, and sounds like its easy to repair too.

I assume nothing is showing up out of the ordinary on the dyno just won't pull as hard as it should. Is yours intermittant or a constant drop? I took it to Ford for this problem months ago but flashed it back to stock and they said they couldnt recreate the problem, so I thought it was the tune. Sounds like its going to expensive to track down.

Still no luck and I'm starting to worry, shouldv'e had the boys at Ford look at this while it was under waranty but I thought it was just the lousy generic 8psi tune. Tomorrow the Rocker cover comes off to check the actuators are advancing and retarding the CAM timing correctly. The computer says they are just the results dont match, been in for 7 days now and the bill is going to be mental.

It would be cool if someone produced a pod that fitted larger gauges, I think the 2" gauges are too small, 60mm would be better and in a pod would look factory

so it makes 320-330RWKW when its running right but when shes off it drops WAY down to 240-260RWKW using exactly the same tune. Robin hasnt tracked it down yet, they have had the computer out to clean up all the terminals as they were all damp and manky, checked for leaks but the boost curve is smooth the cat is OK. Now its going to be Monday before she's ready

Cheers Guys, I should hear back tonight. Fingers crossed as I'll be dissapointed if it doesnt get the best results possible due to a problem. That said he wont tune it too hard if its got issues. Who do you turn to if the tuner cant fix it? the warranty went out the window with the new Plenum

To be honest I havent even asked the tuner what power he is getting at the moment with the problems. I know I'd like to get around 300 RWKW, but who knows what its going to actually make - I'll let you know. Robin is back tommorrow, been setting up a customers dyno.

Thanks guys, I'll get the team at Torque Performance to check the cat. I had meant to replace it with a straight pipe anyway, this might happen sooner than anticipated.

Hi Guys, My cars at the tuner at the moment and he's having trouble making good power, it just isnt smooth. the torque curves flat and the boost is flat but the power just isnt there, it seems its running a bit rough under power. I've got a 3.5@ Xforce turbo back exhaust, custom FMIC and plenum shorter intake with the xover pipework removed NIZPRO style battery in the boot etc. It has been running rough when you put your foot into it since the exhaust went on but was running the generic 8psi tune, Ford put it down to boost spiking due to the exhaust. My Tuner at Torque Performance has said that's not the case and the valve springs are holding up OK. Ive gapped the plugs cleaned the throttle body, checked for leaks every where. The power is there just 10-15KW comes and goes when it runs rough. Could this be a failed Cat? Any help would be great. The new pipework ,intercooler and plenum + 968s are new on at the tuners shop so I dont think they are the cause. He assures me he'll get to the bottom of it I just wondered if any of you have had this problem?

Hi Spryguy, I live in NZ as well and removed the cat as soon as I got my T, never overboosted. Then I put an Xforce 3" Turbo back exhaust bought on trademe on still never overboosted, decatted that when I got the generic CAPA tunes and still no overboost, lucky, unlucky I dunno. Running the 8psi tune I never had a problem, I will get it custom tuned soon enough. I would consider removing the center muffler as well but make sure you get it flanged so you can bolt the old stuff back together, costs more but if you get the overboost all the guys talk of the money isnt wasted, bolt the original system back on and get an edit. I got my stainless turbo back for $500 notes and the sound is soo much better. I can sell ya my decatted stock for $100 Dan

if you take the option I suggested above by contacting Asl logistics to have the icc modified, they can make the icc have a remote wire for the amps ← cos I'm in NZ, and I dont want to send my icc overseas knowing how customs works here I'd end up paying duty on my icc.

What do you plan to use for the remote turn on for the amp, I'm stuck. dont really wanna run something from thr front if I can avoid it. Any help would be cool. Dan

I'm just finishing a box with two 12" alpine type R 1221 with a 6" port through the hole in the parcel shelf where the old factory 8 used to go. Cant wait to hear how it sounds, I wanted to have the boom in the cabin not just all in the boot. It looks like the enclosure you've made could well suit a port. I'm just waiting on the cabling to put the battery in the boot next to the box. I like your work mate I hope it sounds huge. Dan

They are the EV1 style injectors high impedance, not sure the exact Ohmage. Yeah the retune will be done when they go in if I do them.

Hi Guys, A mate has offered to get me some brand new Ford Racing 42lb Bosch green tops for a really good price, has anyone used these, good results? Are they suitable for the T, I think they have different spray patterns. He is using them for NZV8 racing. Dan

I agree performance mode is the trick, great when your overtaking and want to give it heaps

Hi Muncher, Funny thing is I am just back from the UK where I did loads of research before buying my BA MK1 XR6T luxury, its got 16K on the clock now also in Silhoette. I am looking to bring a flash tuner back from CAPA in Aus as it'll save you a couple hundred at least on what it costs to buy here in NZ.
