  1. You don't need to cut the heads off the clips. Slip some sidecutters under the head. Grabbing the clip. Then simply pull them out.
  2. It's not going to work mate. Haha. Go park your car next to an XR. You might get a better understanding.
  3. I've worked in panel shops for 18 years. Sorry mate, it just won't work. Trust me. Just purchase a new front XR bumper. The XR bar folds in towards the intercooler. How are you planning to make the G6 bar do that?
  4. I have spoken to some of the oil tech guys at Nulon about this exact topic in person. I asked 'is there absolutely any time where using a mineral, or semi syn has ANY advantage over using a full synthetic?" His reply was 'no there isn't' It's as simple as this... Mineral and semi syn have more contaminants in them. The oil isn't as pure. I mentioned about guys with the cams wearing. He said a full syn cannot creat more wear than a semi for instance. I know the owners manual recommends it, but the oil change intervals are also listed at 15,000km or yearly if I'm not mistaken. Got to be kidding if anybody thinks that is a good idea. They simply do this to keep the 'servicing costs' down. My personal opinion is this is why they reccomend that oil as well. It looks cheaper when buying the car new. It will get you through warranty period. Then your on your own.
  5. Agreed. Whiteline adjustable links belong in the garbage bin! I just changed them to Wholesale Suspensions links. Solved my rear sway bar issues instantly.
  6. Good price! Whiteline lists them as 200 each side.
  7. Whiteline ones are $200 EACH arm.
  8. Will cost more than buying another car.
  9. Wow @ $9000. That is just getting out of control.
  10. Best thing about a turbo car. A grandma could drive one around. "Mum, just whatever you do, don't put your foot flat to the floor" haha Mate, at 2700km use your warranty. If that fails, I'd go Nizpro.
  11. ^ I would assume no auto build includes those, you want them, extra.
  12. Stalling FGs after tuning is not uncommon, I have been led to believe it happens in around 10% of them. It's an easy fix, just needs something changed in the idle. First thing is always talk to your tuner.
  13. Hi guys, Not sure how many people here are familiar with the 'Nulon Nationals', it is a multi round motorsport event that puts car clubs up against each other where points are earned at each round to find a winner come the end of it all. There are 4 rounds this year, The first round has already been run at Sydney a Motorsport Park and was a Motorkhana event. Unfortunately the Ford team placed last in this event. Here is a video of round 1. Round 2 is going to be held at the Bulahdelah Hill Climb on the 28th of March and there is a very strong bunch of cars representing the Ford guys this time around. Round 2 team includes, Paul Noble in his circuit prepped daily driven FG XRT, fastest Circuit/Street Fg I'm aware of. Jim Cowdan in his GT40, Jim built this car himself, including making the full aluminium body. Brett Luland in his 'CANFRY' FG Gt with massive power. Andrew Bronier in his supercharged TS50 Adam Burgess in his RX7 race car, who drives a a Ford as a daily. Round 3 will be held at Wakefield Park in July I believe and the last round is going to be held at Cootamundra airport as a drag racing event. I figured I'd get a thread up about it, I'm sure there's a lot of track guys interested in following this like myself I'll try keep this thread up to date, but your best bet is to check it out on the Nulon Nationals Facebook page for all the pictures and videos. https://www.facebook.com/nulonnationals Here is the full video from last year. Plenty more on YouTube, http://youtu.be/wrDtH5oyYCs
  14. It's a shame we really don't have much option really, ideally some Shockworks coilovers would be the go. You could dial the rear in exactly where you want. But not everybody can afford to do that. There is some cheap s**t Chinese coilovers about but I wouldn't run those in my lawn mower for free. This is where the jap car guys are lucky. Sooo much choice for high quality spring setups in heaps of heights.
  15. Front or rear noise? If I had to bet I would say it's a loose end link. Had it happen on my front a couple of times. You'll need a good size spanner and make sure they are tight. Start with that.
  16. From memory I didnt notice the steering mate, also no noises on mine either at the moment sorry.
  17. ^spot on. Still not buying it on bonnet being $160. No chance. JET50T is correct, your car would of been assessed, there are a few ways to do it, but the insurance company would of looked at either photos, or the car in person before it got green lighted to have work carried out on the car. You do not need to be present for this. Also correct, MOST insurers will only authorise recycled parts on cars out of warranty in a lot of cases. Your best bet like Jet said is pay the extra for an after market. You can't buy a used one for $160. Not even close.
  18. Genuine xr8 bonnet for $160. Untrue. I work in a smash repairs. Why would he not have to pay the difference? Of course you will have to pay the difference. He cannot just allow for it in his quote at all through insurance. The insurance company will only authorise parts that are on the car. The assessor will knock it straight off the quote, along with them getting in trouble for not quoting it properly in the first place. If you want the XR8 bonnet, they will have to quote for a plain bonnet, and you will have to the cover the extra. Which is going to be alot.
  19. Is that SL? I've always been under the impression SL is standard XR height. Which is already lower than a cab pack fg falcon. You really need SSL. But a read through your posts says you had them and they dropped to 330ish? I really think these springs are crap. I happen to literally live around the corner from Eibach, I went and saw them when my first set dropped in the arse. Asked if they can do me some. Unfortunately they said they never had the market for the falcon so never did them, meaning he can't do me any as they have no data. Other option is run the SSL again, if they drop to 335 again, (mine haven't) you can then use a superpro 10mm spring seat to bring it back up. Not that you should have to do that.
  20. How many km on yours? I would most certainly put a used fg engine in there at that price, lower kms and newer. Can be had for that much.
  21. Rate it??? Seriously, go to Carsales and compare it and price it up for yourself. Take less time than it did for you to sign up here and make the post.
