  1. Hi Guys, I want advice before I dip more $$$ in my BA XR6T running a FG F6 motor making 413rwkw on E85 which seems to be either a blown head gasket or cracked head. My pride and joy has started blowing allot of white smoke over the last couple of weeks on cold starts. Also about a week ago I was under full boost and suddenly fealt and heard what seemed to be heavy misfiring so I backed off and took it to my tuner for further investigation. Suspected spark plugs and replaced them and also found the fuel pump not working properly and suspected to of been running lean for a while so replaced it and back up on the dyno still having issues. Now upon doing compression test some water come out of cylinder 5. Now suspecting blown head gasket or cracked bore. I have not heard of many blown head gaskets internally on these motors however have heard of a few cracked heads. I have spent allot on this and has always been well maintained and quality parts always used. What do you think it is and why and what sort of costs should I expext. Looking for advice and opinions from others with experience. Thanks in advanced.
  2. I have the car back and it feels amazing! I will update the main post soon.
  3. Get the tune and you will not regret it. I have had my car tuned through many stages of upgrades and changes but I am always really impressed with how smooth everything runs. The first tune I ever had was with just a cooler and air box upgrade and I could not get the smile of my face :-)
  4. Well it's been a while... Over the past year I have gone through 6 diff centre bushes and the issue has now come around again. This time no stuffing around. New independent motorsport rear diff hat, and harrop truetrac while the diff is out... why not. Now I can't handle getting all this done not to get some more power so here comes the e85 tune! I'll post an update soon, picking car up on Wednesday
  5. What makes shockworks the best? I know pedders are not good for being slammed but that's not what im after anyway. I want lowest legal height with as much comfort as possible.
  6. Hey guys, I have some severe clunking at the moment and have had pedders run through there diagnostics to find I have 2 failed shock absorbers which is understandable as these are stock and have about 200k km on them. I am already looking into coilovers to find complaints about all of them as you do. They are in the same price range as most others out there such as tien, xyz, shockworks etc... Whats the feedback on these pedders extreme xa's? I am only lowering a inch max I just need a good balance for everyday driving and some track time.
  7. Will be interesting to see the result of you trying bp again.
  8. All good mate its a Walbro 460. Thanks, they make the front end look tougher haha. Thanks mate, this forum is where I found all the advice I needed aswell as some from the tuners. With 265's on 19x9.5 rears she will kick hard under full boost in first, second, third and sometimes forth with just me in the car. I am using cheap tyres will go some better ones and 275's next and she should be much better.
  9. Cheers sixman, some thinking to look into and think about. I don't want to change diff gears as I dont want them shorter and if they are taller I will lose some of that pull that's great Jet I'll be hitting you up for goodies MattyP that's all I was originally going to do. The precision seems to meet all my needs where as the garrett gets close but cant meet at all areas
  10. That's impressive on stock valve springs. I currently have a 600hp built tailshaft. The gtx3576 just lacks that mid to top that I want for the straights. I am pretty set on the precision I think, what front and rear housing should be used any idea? Its my daily but I go to the track once a month or so. Mainly track for racing on the straight with rolling start around 40km
  11. Lol @ k31th.. very true Atomik Valve Springs and billet oil pump gears are currently in it. Thanks sixman its not all about the power its more so how its delivered. Currently on track days it takes to long to spool and get power on rolling starts. Need nearly 60kms in second gear to get spool happening fast. The precision seems to be the win, how much boost can the f6 bottom end hold on stock pistons and rods with 98?
  12. This is a very nice machine. If only I had some cash spare.. dam mods haha
  13. If I went an e85 tune on my current setup I would be making approx 430rwkw Jet can look after me with a gtx35 supercore. I can't make up my mind as the precision costs more and seems to be little gain. I only have a single walbro 460 at the moment, dont think it will cut it for e85. Thanks k31th, its been a long progress which has deemed to be expensive but shes my pride and joy
  14. Where is a good place to get precision turbos in brisbane? Can anyone assist with the previous post cheers. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  15. Hey sixman I have looked into the 6235, what front and rear housing are you using? Whats the f6 bottom end good for? I have upgraded billet oil pump gears. I am hoping with the new turbo to not increase boost past the 18 psi im already running Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  16. I currently have a BA with a BF F6 07 motor and T56. Turbo is a GT3582R with ported wastegate and flapper mod Making 386rwkw on BP98 at 18 psi As title says my next step for power is close to 450rwkw on 98 and more with e85. Now what I want with the turbo is to spool faster but not lose that top end pull (Would prefer more top end than current if possible with quicker spool) I don't mind spending money though I would prefer not to change the manifold so basically bolt on apart from things like actuator bracket and intake piping obviously no big deal. I will be getting a plenum, larger throttle body and twin pumps with whatever turbo setup I get to help towards this next power figure. I have been considering a gtx3582r or gtx3852r with T04 comp 11 wheel and ceramic dual ball bearing core with .70 front housing. I don't know if this will give me what I want? What would be the best option for what I am chasing with the manual? Current dyno sheet Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  17. These are 19's Front - 19x8.5 +35 Rear - 19x9.5 +35 I am stoked with where the rear sits though I would prefer +30 on the front. Could use a spacer. I used to have 19x9.5 +32 on the rear with rolled guards and it just cleared Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  18. I wish I knew about this 2 weeks ago as I just replaced my diff hat and bush :( Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  19. that's good to know. Seems to be quite common. I hope it continues to start smoothly Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  20. Is it using the fg ecu or ba ecu, just thinking if you are running the ba ecu it may just need a tune. Im no expert just a thought Edit: If you only ran it for 30 seconds it could just be cold idle rpm, otherwise possibly thermo. Also make sure fuel is good. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  21. I dont think you really want to find out haha. Maybe not in the intercooler piping...
  22. Yea Ozy it definitely was worth while. @john definitely believe airbox is the best option, I dont like the idea of the under headlight filter would cop allot of water in rain/puddles Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  23. My journey to owning a 386rwkw BA XR6T. When I was on my P's I owned a red BA 2003 XR6 N/A, I could not wait long enough to get my opens so I could have a turbo. So I was offered a BA 2003 XR6T 4 Speed Auto Blueprint for a very good price and could not refuse. Once I got my opens I started using the Turbo and sold the N/A to a mate. First of I wanted some new wheels and thought I would prepare for the more power I will want later. So Matt Black wheels fronts 19x8.5 and rears 19x9.5 Now I chose the XR6T because I had heard of its power potential so it came to the time where I had to start looking at doing my first stage of mods. I did not want to gain power too cheap so I did some research and I always had a goal in mind of around 300rwkw Stage 1 result was - Venom 3.5" high flow cat - Atomik valve springs - Custom airbox with pod filter - Walbro Fuel Pump - 1000cc KPM Injectors - PW Stage 3 Intercooler with hot/cold side piping - PWR Tranny Cooler XCAL4 Tuned to 258rwkw with 870nm torque running 14 PSI trailing off When I heard the power result I was not overly impressed... but then I took it for a drive and it was absolutely amazing! I had never driven anything so powerful before. I could not wipe the smile of my face. Unfortunately the actuator was sticking so I decided to put a 10psi actuator on and get the turbo wastegate ported with larger flapper. I got a retune and noted I was wanting closer to 300rwkw so we put boost up to 15psi The result was 265rwkw with 890nm torque running 15psi Still not very impressed with the power result on paper however driving with the power felt amazing and even better having it hold on boost. It wasn't 300rwkw however I was happy... for the time being. I decided to put it on another dyno to see how different the reads could be. Result 275rwkw with 916nm One day I was on Gumtree and come across a great motor/club/gearbox deal 2007 BF F6 Typhoon motor with turbo (brand new core, ported wastegate and larger flapper) Billet oil pump gears and Plaz Valve Springs just fitted. T56 Manual Gearbox with brand new Malwood Option 4 Heavy duty clutch and flywheel. Once again I had to buy it haha. So now I have the strong bottom end what other mods can I get to make some good power. More reseach was needed. Stage 2 final result - BF F6 07 Typhoon motor - Converted from BTR4 to T56 Manual with 3.93 diff - Turbo ported wastegate with larger flapper and 12psi actuator - Malwood Option 4 Clutch and Flywheel - Billet Oil Pump Gears - Plaz Valve Springs - PW Stage 3 Intercooler with even larger hot and cold side piping - PW Throttle Body reloc - PW Battery reloc under headlight - PW 5" Turbo side race airbox - 1000cc KPM Injectors - Walbro Fuel Pump - X-Force 4" Dump to 3.5" exhaust - 600HP Built tailshaft Tuned with XCAL4 making 386rwkw with 1091nm running 19psi on BP98 Now I am really happy with the dyno readout and the power is amazing! Cant stop smiling again Buckled the old wheels so bought some new ones which are same f19x8.5 and r19x9.5 Wanted to start doing track days and those stock brakes are horrid not to mention the amount of rotors you chew through. So I got some XYZ 6 Pot 355mm Front setup Thanks for reading guys thought it was time I wrote my piece haha. There will be more to come.. more mods and I still have e85 to try
  24. Thanks for your feedback FiftyOne. Have you noticed any of those improvements they claim to have? Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  25. Yea it sits inside the overflow tank Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
