  1. Working on that now....
  2. Timeslips from - Adelaide International Heathcote Raceway Calder Park WSID Willowbank Kwinana and Hidden Valley only
  3. Its open to anyone that has a Capa Ford Flasher installed on their car, and can provide proof in the way of an invoice from CAPA or from an authorised dealer. It is also open to any T in any state, as long as its privately owned.
  4. Been speaking to CAPA about rewarding some of the guys running the CAPA Flasher 'Edit' system on their XR6Ts. I mentioned it briefly in another thread, but heres the way its going to work. 'TURBO TOP TENS!' 10 SEC XR6 TURBO CLUB 1) The first privately owned XR6T to break the existing mark of 10.98 seconds will receive a $500 voucher from CAPA. This can be redeemed on any of their product range. 2) Any improvement of that time by a different vehicle at any point in time will instantly reward the owner with a $200 voucher. 3) For any 10 second pass which doesn't qualify as one of the above there will be a $100 reward I.e. if you run five 10 second runs in a day then get ready for a $500 voucher coming your way! To claim a prize CAPA need to be supplied at least two 5 megapixel photos of the car (with racing number visible) at the track racing, and a copy of each timeslip you are claiming for, clearly stating the vehicles racing number. These can be scanned and emailed to www.capa.com.au and marked to ATTN: Scott, re CAPA Reward Scheme. Photos and timeslips will be used on a 'Turbo Top Tens!' section of the CAPA web site, and will include details of winning vehicles. This offer will stay open indefinitely, with review in a couple of months time, which gives some of you guys that constantly race the opportunity to make enough money to cover your track 'habit' and have a whole lot of fun in the process. At this stage there haven't been any limits set to the amount you can win, but obviously this will be subject to review across the course of the Reward Scheme competition.

Yes Craig you deserve one, but maybe Chiptorque could foot that bill!

REWARD! Just talking to CAPA at the moment about them putting up a prize for the first privately owned and edited XR6T into the 10s. Something like a $500 voucher will do the trick. Will confirm Get this one, and we have ALL the scalps Now, get out there!

Still no photos, no evidence, no report. Somehow this story has a couple of holes in it......or of course you could post pics of the damage

Why put a cable on it?
  9. Errr no mate. Its all made up. Some good imaginations out there though. Unless of course the PCM can use visual ID optical recognition techniques through a hidden camera under the dash to see the different sticker on the CAPA box versus the Herrod box, as other than that they are identical firmware.
  10. Yet another informative comment Goose. However you are a perfect example of the point here (whether you know it or not). Two million kilowatts at the back wheels on a dyno, yet the performance of a near stock car on the track. Something must give.
  11. The last time we found a sensible application for a piggyback computer on an LS1 it was to chock the front wheel to stop it rolling out the workshop.....anyone who argues this point is clearly, and decisively, a simpleton. In Canberra Jake is the man. Switched on tuner, excellent builder of all things high performance. Stands head and shoulders above anyone else in the area.
  12. People just love calling Piggybacks 'Edits' now dont they. Looks very much like a TSI from the picture....
  13. Dont get confused here. Anyone can get 9.5l/100km on a constant light load freeway cruise. Stock computer, piggyback computer, carby even. Throw the city cycle in though as well Macka. Ford do when they put that little yellow sticker on the windscreen.
  14. That would be your dash display being out because of the larger injector fitment. You change the injector to a bigger one......the dash fuel reading is skewed lower.... I have owned a T, and worked with dozens. 9.5l/100km in a COMBINED cycle, not a 4th gear cruise down the highway...is fantasy. Maybe not, but at least when I do its accurate. Food for thought there.
  15. The PCM commands closed loop - aim mixture of 14.765:1 air fuel ratio inside its pre-determined operating range. Say up to 75kpa vac and 4500rpm. A piggyback cannot change this. It doesnt matter what piggyback changes you make the factory PCM always controls the mixture back to 14.765:1. It does this by using both short and long term trim strategies in the software - STFT and LTFT up to +/- 25% fuel. If you try and pull it outside this range by bending the signals, it will throw a fault code and revert to open loop (extremely thirsty) operation. While the window for closed loop control can be changed in dealer level CAPA software, the aim air fuel ratio of 14:1 cannot be. Personally I haven't seen a case where the dealer in question has changed this window, and neither should there be a need. There is a possiblity though that the injector calibration settings for the larger injectors in your software may not be totally correct, which can skew the operation in open loop. It still concerns me Macka when I hear you make sweeping statements about a product and its operation when you don't fully understand how and why it works. Like 330rwkw out of a stock fuel system, I find your claim of 9.5l/100km for a modified T to be sensational to say the least. In a combined urban/highway drive cycle as dictated by the relevant test standard this figure is almost physically impossible without severly affecting the emissions and performance (both in a negative way) of the vehicle. Remember a CAPA Flasher will deliver the air fuel ratios, hence economy, that is programmed into it by the tuner. It is a tuning tool.
  16. The fix is being tested now. If you bought your Flasher from CAPA then return it to them for the upgrade If you bought it from a dealer they will be able to install the new code I dont believe there would be a charge for this Will let you know when the dealers have the latest database with the TC revisions in place.
  17. Jeff, start a new thread on it, and Ill get GTP-330 to answer your questions. Hes the XR8 expert
  18. You need to make a decision Mick, are you a business manager, or a tuning expert. Stick to one of the above and you might get something right!
  19. No injector arguments on this thread guys, or it, and those responsible will get removed. Take it out to the general area

Quicktune for BA hasnt been completed yet. Will keep the forum posted
  21. Plenty of stock cars exhibit this behaviour....and plenty dont....all running the same factory Ford software. If your car does this with the Edit in place then by all means have the tables I highlighted changed to reduce initial fire rpm. And Macka give me the PXXXX diagnostic code error that your car generates when this happens and I will explain the parameters the PCM uses to make its shutdown decisions.
  22. Reload the stock program in your car, then go see Powertorque and get them to 'clear' the Flasher for you. Have them upload the series II turbo files and away you go
  23. Because you vehicle still has full torque reduction in place. Hence it wont generate the power to overcome the traction system
  24. There is nothing strange about it at all. If the system commands the revs up then of course there wont be an error. Its doing exactly what its supposed to do. If the throttle is commanding revs down and they go up, then an error condition is generated. Back to the first question. Engine initial fire rpm (the issue being discussed here) is controlled by two separate tables, being air_flow_multiplier_in_neutral and air_flow_multiplier_in_drive. Both are a time_running versus coolant temperature table with 42 data points. By getting your tuner to adjust this table the initial fire rpm can be set anywhere you want.
