  1. Dean, driving an XR6T ute with 450rwkw and a 3500rpm stall converter over the past couple of days has just about converted me again All I can say is you WILL love it
  2. The software will be installed at HPF today. I would imagine over the next couple of days HPF will start making the necessary changes to customer cars. Nick, the tables required to make the changes I listed didn't exist until yesterday. So, having that type of control was quite literally impossible.
  3. It really depends on the level of vehicle modification and the quality of your base tune but there will be some advantage.

  6. Boost can be controlled as a function of MCT (manifold charge temperature). Depending on how your car was or was not tuned, boost can be adjusted downwards as the temp gets hotter, regardless of cooler used.
  7. The clicking is caused when the tuner selects Wastegate Dyno Duty Cycle as a boost control medium. There is nothing inherently wrong with this approach, but since its an internal Ford calibration mode it does result in the wastegate control solenoid pulsing at this duty cycle any time the ignition key is switched on. Either using desired boost tables or dyno dutycycle can give a workable result, and both are perfectly acceptable ways of controlling the boost pressure.

  9. Sixfan, before you start a single man crusade, or attempt to get a rise from me, use the search function - its your friend. I concisely answered the question of traction control 'switching off' a couple of months ago - Here is a copy and paste from that thread in the CAPA forums. "Just to inform anyone here that wants to know, the answer to continuously working traction control requires two changes to your program - 1) Torque Module Switch set to ON (1) 2) Torque Limit, Min Engine Torque Allowed table all values set to -1023 All dealers have already been informed of this...and now so have you! Its a 2 minute upgrade, so go get it." If these settings were carried out exactly, then your traction control would work as factory. All of the current distributed programs have this fix in place. However if your tuner has implemented changes in any of the above areas they may well have triggered the problem.

  11. No attack. No apology. Its just obvious from your picture that a generic intercooler has been used with one end tank cut in half turned upside down and tacked back into place. It wasnt an attack, it was a question...and in all my time spent in Japan I have never seen a core like that. Nothing more to it, dont be so paranoid.
  12. Yeah I was praising HPF. Nothing wrong with that they deserve the credos. Hard work pays off. I dont really care if you hold a grudge or not Nick.
  13. Codes are good...but putting together a car that runs quickly and consistently is even better, and for that HPF have no peer As you quite proudly state Nick the results speak for themselves, and HPF have them.
  14. Nick, having spent extensive periods of time in Japan, and knowing major core manufacturers there eg Calsonic, Ueto etc. I can suggest that this is not in fact a Japanese product. However I may be wrong This looks very similar to the NissanSilvia.com $160 to your door Chinese thing with a cut and shut end tank....

  18. It took me that long to find out the fault code generated. Craig (geea) told me the actual number, not Dynowog. Hope that puts your mind at ease.
  19. It would seem that Geeas car had generated a P1227 overboost related code, which would have resulted in the performance decrease he experienced. The good news is that Edit contains a fix for this problem. For those interested it is as simple as going to - SCALARS - TURBOCHARGER and changing P1227_level from 0.6320003 to 0.9999999 Save file, reflash PCM, and problem with external boost adjusting device (Xede) solved. This is exactly what we do when adding an external Blitz/Apexi etc boost controller. If the factory PCM was controlling the boost pressure this fault would not have been logged...but because the Xede is commanding the boost in Craigs car the PCM sees that it is not getting what it aims for and protects itself, just as the maker intended. Resetting the P1227_level removes the PCMs concern with aim boost level. Hope this is valuable information for some members!

  22. Ok Guys, one week left to go on the reward points scheme. Management has decided to end this current offer on the 7th of August. There will be some new goals after that!
  23. Unplug the 'chip' from the J-Port on the back of the PCM and test drive. A poor connection here will give those exact same symptoms.
  24. It does work, and the ALL the tuners have been informed. Maybe they should ring me.....or maybe you know something I dont?
