  1. I wouldn't be too fussed. As another ISP (part)owner... we have a lot of crap like that in T&C but it's there to cover our backsides and the customers. Essentially you've been told what measures can be taken against you as a user and on what grounds. The definitions of the terms is where the detail (and its matching devil) lies. I doubt that personal mail anyone sends irrespective of content would ever be screened. It may be tagged and logged if your attachment is called "naked 6 year old thai sex romp.jpg" but really it's be a conservative and well resourced ISP that goes that extent. Logging crap is a biatch, it wastes space and resources. Reviewing and managing filtering is resource hungry and expensive.... Rest easy YCL, Tel$tra just swung some more cover in front of their ample fat ar$e... A.

A good diesel would make the Terri a new and via choice for many of the people mover/family/rural crowd..... Certainly convert a few away from Diesel 4wds that offer little more space and a lot more bulk.... I would thinkit's better than a Hero model with Turbo or v8..... It would also make the Terri an attractive option to Export to RHD Europe (ie UK) and Africa etc.... A.
  3. It's more than likely they never had your original colour choice coming in and were hoping you'd take what they did have. Wouldn't be the first time that tricks been tried....... A.
  4. You'll still need to gett he cable from that unit to the ICC, for about $200 from Blau AU, but yup it'll work quite nicely. As has already been said it's just a signal convertor NOT a Timebase convertor (ie can't change from PAL>NTSC or NTSC>PAL) A.
  5. I documented my install of a HCB30 into the Turbo... The link is either in my signature or just go to http://aaron.ausmicro.com and it'll be linked form there. The Kit works very well and is very subtle in the car which is a nice thing. A.
  6. Welcome to the Nuthouse.... As most people have said, don't stress about Rego change over or license until you gotta, although licence changeover is a freebie (well it was when I did mine about 8 years ago) The rego - well the ACT cops will give you a hard time about it if you goof up about your permanent address when you get pulled over (RBT etc). That said they'll also give you grief about the licence. As for hangouts? we're spread out all over the place, although I'm sure we'd all actually make the effort to get together every now and then... A.
  7. Has anyoone tried the most simple of tricks. Hold down the Mode button while turning the ignition "ON" this works for a surprising number of cars. No I haven't tried the BA yet... A.
  8. *laughs* Fit's in a parking spot though A.

"Subject to finance" Simple expand it so that it covers what you want in a finance deal "Subject to finance below 8%, fortnightly payments, single application fee, but no monthly fee, no early repayment penatly etc etc" or "Subject to finance arranged by purchaser" Also if you're trying to offload a car, and ordering a new one (up to say a 1 month wait) simply write the contract as "Trade of XX vehicle at $$ if purchaser is not able to sell privately before delivery" In short don't get lumped with two cars, make the option to trade your old one of the stipulations in the contract at an agreed price. That way you KNOW you will be able to dump the car... but only tell the dealership this after you get the quote. Another thing to keep in mind, most of the info above is accurate, but it's not all true in an every changing industry. Dealerships can refuse to let you take a vehicle alone. In fact if it's got "trade" plates then it's normally a condition on the insurance. Also many dealers have a minimum markup that will always be held above their 'cost' of the vehicle. This isn't "hold back" it's completely not negotiable ... One delaership I know sets this as $2400 on ANYTHING they sell, and above that price they have "Holdback" (About $1.5K) and then your normal negotiating sphere "gross". Usually your sales droid doesn't get commission for deals below hold-back UNLESS on average their sales for the month are very good. Normally sales droids are paid based commsions on the total gross held in a month across all their deals, with manufacturers/importers giving bonuses to them for volume of sales. A good salesperson or sales manager will always know their personal position against gross, and the 'teams' position against gross. In some cases you'll get hand-balled to a sales droid who can afford to loose gross - or the sales manager will do the deal as a house deal to absorb the loss but increase the volume. It's a game, but att he end of the day go to a dealership and do the deal with the people you get treated by in the manner you want to be treated, by going to the shonky people for the sake of $50 (yes it happens) all you're doing is rewarding them for being pricks... 10. that's pretty much it MickQ. In Australia (before and after FTA) you can happily sell a piece of hardware that will do what SCT/CAPA Edit does, you can also sell a piece of software for that hardware that would let someone create NEW maps or even edit existing ones. What you can't do is SELL 3 copies of the original code/maps with a few tweaks and changes from an original base code/map. The SCT/CAPA box has exactly that, three copies of very lightly modified Ford maps in it. We know they raise upper boost limits, they change torque tags for the auto, and trim a few target values. There'd be enough wholey Ford stuff in there to nail their backsides to the wall for all eternity. In short the CAPA/SCT system is just as illegal as a xbox hacked to play pirate games. LS1Edit is legal thanks to only being a tool to perform the editing task, mind you once you copy your Map and use it as a base for someone elses then you're in the shiat... It's more grey than B&W but grey enough to make it not worth the risk of looking stupid if Expensive Daewoo went to court. I suspect APS Edit will be more like LS1 Edit. A.
  11. Nice to know I'm not the only person who thinks the Red "6" is not right I refuse to buy the merch until the car either has a red "6" or the merch has a silver "6" A.
  12. Does anyone know the diamtere and pitch of the nuts/studs ont he BA? A.
  13. What I know about "Undetectable" stuff is not in Ford but in a Euro brand that does have some great smarts in their delaership software package. The dealership pluggs in their laptop as part of the service routine. An entire dump of the ECU is taken, then a byte-byte compare is done against what the MAP shoudl be. When it doesn't match the suspect code is stored in the Laptop (which uplinks to HQ via the 'net) and a 'clean version re-flashed. If there's a new update available the tech gets the option to flash it, complete with advices on what it shoudl fix. The system is probably marginally more complex than the Ford WDS system, but not by much. To say things are undetectable is wrong, if you go into a dealership with this euro brand and ain't running the correct map you're stuffed. If you reflashed you may get away with it, but I'd guess there's a history of "days since last flash" or somethign there as well. As I say the Ford system may not be that smart now, but I reckon with the Flash tuners becoming more prevalent in the world (not just Ford, but for Holden/GM and the Euros heck even Hyundai with their Bosch based systems) most makers will be doing somethign to track it. I think the best option is to be upfront about your mods with a dealership that isn't goignt o give you sh!t about them, and be prepared to pay the price if you party too hard. A.
  14. Some of the boxes out there use chipsets that are able to be hacked ot output NTSC, it change a config pin... while others need a firmware or software flag change. Luck of draw really. A.
  15. The Blau box is NOT a standards convertor. It takes NTSC in and puts out NTSC. So if you go Blau then you must have all NTSC bits. A.

FWIW v9 is not version 9 but rather somethign like v34.9 (which is actually the version of the entire WDS code package - not the XR6T specific flash) this version they're talking about appears to have been around before Christmas, but not available as a 'update' - ie it was in release phase - and only installed to new WDS's etc.... A.

You're describing the way my auto 'feels' just before it hits the overboost shutdown. That is it (with foot held in same position) feels like the throttle is being opened and closed? With a manual part of those symptoms could match an iffy Accel pdeal unit (drive by wire).... A.
  18. I've had a call from Ford advising me to talk to my dealer in the next few days.... A.
  19. I can explain the Mercedes one... "Paul Riley" (assuming he's still there) He used to be regional customer service manager for Chrysler, then moved to Benz a few years back. He spent a great deal of time causing grief for me when I was in the Chrysler scene - arrogant, is probably a good word for him.. On a lighter and brighter note, the guys that service my car (Gregory's Ford in Mitchell ACT) are expecting a software update in the new year after much too-ing and fro-ing with Ford. To the credit of the Dealership stuff has been happening behind the scenes and Ford is hopefully going to deliver A.
  20. My Monster is currently on its way from Japan, can't match you guys though. 1/28th scale It'll be great for running around the house A.
  21. Ani, yeah it's had it's own thread elsewhere, but also appeared in this one... http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...opic=14086&st=0 So far no real response form Ford, they're rang a counple of times, the dealership is doing their best but ultimately it's in the hands of Ford HO... A.
  22. Trumpy when it comes to RC stuff from Big Names it's all pretty good, the best factor in your decision is parts support, either from your Local Hobby Shop or from good online sellers within AU. You would not believe how annoying it is having to wait for parts to come from the US if you can't just get them locally! In fact a lot of my business comes from people who can't get parts from anywhere within AU for cars they bought mega cheap from christ-knows-where so they then pay my price to source the parts (and I basically have to charge them based on parts cost and hourly rate to locate them) HPI and Traxxas have great support here though both from parallel and official importers, so take a wander into a few of your local shops and see what they have... if you don't like their price buy the truck online, but at least you'll be able to get widget X when you need it! A.
  23. Err 1/8th scale not the mucho smaller 1/18th.... Nice If you get stuck for HPI parts etc there's a guy in Canberra who parallel imports at very good prices and has his house full of stock.. www.mrcmodelcarparts.com.au Mark & Deb, nice people * Note they have no connection with me spruiking them except I've bought some stuff off them. A.
  24. Phruck! Now that's just plain silly - unless I imagined the whole event complete with Mechanic dude with beard and notebooks etc in their customer lounge etc... *sighs* A.
  25. JB, I read their previous weeks "Drive Doctor" column and sent in an e-mail (which I also sent a copy to Ford via their customer feeback webpage stating I had passed this on to SMH/Drive) Like most things you can't make a media organisation run your story, but if you hit somethign topical (ie NSW Police has the same problems with XR6Ts) you're likely to get picked up. A.
