Wonthaggi Cruise
Great l'll be in that who's going to start it off Done! Now one monent I forgot to mention about Sunday was leaving the Phillip Island Road and turner back towards Melbourne at Anderson's Roundabout. I'll just say Craig and Dean were in convoy, and they were feed up with the traffic. I was behind Craig, and as we turned I ended up out in the right hand lane, he in the left behind the traffic. We had talked about how a standard T might go against his modified beast. Craig, not sure if you realised I was there or if you knew my brother and I were peddling as hard as we could to get the Red Dragon going. I must have planted the welly about .5 of a second before you, becuase for a moment I thought "Oh, there's not that much difference". How wrong I was. When you actually gave it to Boof, I heard the roar :banghead: (over the stereo on 18), saw the car squat ever so slightly, lane change and then . Very, very impressive!

Sept '04 Cruise
Well, let's start nutting out ideas for the next one! August might be pushing :banghead: uphill for most, so late Sept or early Oct should be a fair bit of notice. Where are we going to go? Michael (Mook_05) suggested around Lake Eildon. I like it personally, some great roads up there to really see how much grip the 18" really have. However, I don't know how people from Geelong etc would go getting there. So, people, start throwing your suggestions in to the ring! Where's the little stretch of road you love to fang down and hope that my TMU colleagues aren't hiding around the corner? Chances are if you love punting the T along there, we all will too! Get all ideas in and we can fire up a poll if we need to. And if it ends up being somewhere with a tunnel or cliff roads, I call shotgun driving behind Dean to listen to the exhaust! (Not that I think I would ever get in front of the Purple Maloo Eater!) Those pipes echoing off a cliff wall could be a holy experience I think! Antony

South Coast Weekend
Ok, I see where this is heading .... Knock yourselves out ... no really ... that's funny! Like I say, I am there (Bateman's Bay) if I can muster a co-driver! If this is the standard of humour, I better bring my ballistic vest to hold me together when my sides split!

VZ SS to have 295kw and 6lt
Are we talking about the same Holden? The Expensive Daewoo that builds car in Elizabeth, SA and has just revealed what will be a stunning new V6 engine, probably with a snail hanging off the side in the VE? The Expensive Daewoo that is going to put the LS2 in the same new model? The same Expensive Daewoo that just introduced a 5 speed auto across part of their fleet and 6 speed manual across the entire lot? Yeah, guess you're right, not a lot on good on the horizon there! The actual usefulness of these things remains to be seen, however people know a 6 speed is more gears than a 5 speed and they want one. Say what you will, the new 6 will be a belter (after the old asthmatic engine, a victa 2 stroke would be an improvement though). I am a 100% Ford man, only 23 but have owned 5 cars, the only non ford was a '76 Troop carrier, and that had a Ford V8 in it! I am not pushing the Expensive Daewoo barrow, but I certainly think with their export program, the way they was placed themselves within GM as being the premier RWD design people and the new engines and gearboxes tell me they have plenty to cheer about. Ford has not made the most of what the Falcon offered the consumer, and that is why I still say they are a reactive company that is destined to play THIRD fiddle to Toyota and Expensive Daewoo until there is a major re-think in the way business is done. Oh, the Territory is the exception that proves the rule, it a great concept that takes into account what the customer wants. It may infact may go some way to explaining where all the efforts of everyone at Broadmeadows have gone for the last two years! I take all praise for the Territory back if it was not engineered for LH drive though. Need to think ahead!

New magna faster than the T or XR8?
You're not saying that Mitsubishi has created an ad where cars drive fast are you? That must surely be in breach of the industry code of conduct for responsible advertising. Just like Mazda had to "tone down" the Zoom-Zoom ads and the Ford ute with all the police cars behind it implied that it was about to drive fast, Mitsubishi should not be allowed to advertise in a way that shows such blatent disregard for road safety. I am shocked and disappointed. (Unfortunately the internet is not a good vessel for conveying sarcasm)

New Roads
In preperation for the cruise tomorrow I thought I would get the car car all spruced up and ready to roll. Part of that was finally facing up tp the seemingly impossible task of spot removing. Tried metho, really dubious about putting something like this on the paint, no luck. Had AutoGlaze (I think) bug and tar remover, no luck (Like the last three times I tried it). Couldn't find the Dr Paint again, so dunno if that works. Eventually the old man dug out some euco oil and tried that. It works, but a tiny spot needs to be "scrubbed" with a eucolyptus oil soaked cotton bud for nearly aminute to get it off. People coming on the cruise tomorrow will see how many of these little black spots are on the car. Are there any spray-painters or people with experience in automotive paint that could tell me of any possible adverse effects of euco oil on the red paint? I have spot tested it and not yet seen any problems, but it was also only two hours ago! Regards, Antony (BA Turbs)

lerner in skyline caught going 204kph
I haven't seen the young lady in question, but am I to assume she's not as pretty as this princess??: All WoMAN Anyway, back O/T: For all the talk of road safety etc etc, the $1,000 (IMHO) is suitable and about in line with similar penalties I have seen dished out. The 12 months disqualification though.... Come on! 205km/h? Not licenced? No experienced driver next to her? Double the period of disqualification and I would say that is reasonable. Once again an unlincensed person has thought merely of themselves. Not fair, bacause without a licence, no TAC. Tough luck the person whose family she cleans up. Sorry no sympathy for her here. But hey, we are merely the great unwashed, and magistrates are there supposedly to penalise in line with community expectation and with public safety in mind, so, really, what would I know? After all, a magistrate only represents me and every other person in the state.

Colour.... Vibe?
I don't care either way about the colour, I wouldn't buy either, but that is a ripper of a response, hats off to you!

Wonthaggi Cruise
Looking forward to it! Have a lot of relos down that way. All D**kheads. Hope we don't see them, might ruin a good lunch! Are there any stretches of road we can deviate down in order to give the T a little squirt? Obviously if the weather is unkind, this becomes less of an issue. Locals know of any where good?

Premium Sound
Tried an MP3 disc in my car (Premium Sound) just after I got it. No love for the tunes.

Time for another spin SA
Even though I'm Victorian, when I saw the last post was by the one and only Ramm Chandra, I had to come for a look. I was not dissapointed, that is one whack thread! About 3 different topics all going at once! God Bless you Ramm, and I hope fifi has a lovely time on the cruise.

Best and worst numerplates
There was a "mate of a mate" down this way that had the number plates "NORGS", but ended up selling them because they just got stolen all the time.

New Holden 6 and Gear boxes on Holden web site.
It may lose weight. The V6 is now all alloy, the 3.8 was iron. Also some of the newer transmissions can be very light. Remember the Jag 6-Speed auto weighs less than the Falcon's 4 Speed.
