  1. Hey mate, Not being an a$$ but that happened to me about a year ago. I hit a massive pothole on a roundabout so I had no choice but to go through it as there was a car on my left. It tore the sidewall of my tyre, took a chunk out of my rim and absolutely shagged my steering. So new tyre, buggered rim and f*cked steering... Took pics and everything. Sent it to the council to see about repairs and was flat out denied. Didn't get a friggin' cent and they weaseled their way out of everything - The f*ckers... Anyway, I hope you get more than I did buddy. All the best, Dan
  2. Hey Chaos, Thanks for the offer mate. Mine is an auto After my NCW is up, I'm planning on doing a few simple mods, without going over the top. Possibly just cat, tune and injectors as I'm not after a huge power figure. After that, I'd be looking into Surge tanks, Coolers/pipe kits, intakes etc which is a little more than I'm after. I think I'll be more than happy with some minor mods that keep the car looking and sounding as legal as possible. Hopefully we can catch up on a cruise or something? Cheers mate, Dan
  3. Hey mate, Honestly I don't know how much power you can really extract without tuning/supporting mods. I'd say you'd get a few rwkw with a good intake, but the computer can only adjust so much to the new air flow. Tuning can then open up all sorts of new power with the right mods! As someone who had a tuned BA, I can say that a tuned car feels like a completely new vehicle over stock. I'm seriously excited even thinking about what potential my F6 has! Best thing to do is save up and get all your mods done at once then mate. All the best, Dan
  4. Mate, If you want a bit more noise, go a K&N panel filter and a rapid intake muffler replacement kit. The filter gives a little more induction roar and the rapid kit makes the turbo whistle probably twice as loud under full boost. Great way to get a bit more noise without voiding warranty or spending a fortune - If that's what you are after? Otherwise do all your mods at once so you can get the most out of a high flowing airbox. Cheers, Dan
  5. Hey Zeus, I'm in the same position as you. Was really keen on getting a nice intake like a PW or something, but as stated the gains will not be much without a tune and supporting mods. If you do decide to mod down the track, you could look at a turbo side intake/battery relocation kit. Air then has much shorter distance to flow... Although would be a warranty concern I'd think so maybe after NCW is out if you're still interested? I put a 33-2950 K&N panel filter in the F6 the other day and the car feels the same. Maybe a touch more responsive... Haven't had it in long enough to see fuel consumption benefits though (If there are any) I bough the filter mainly to eliminate the replacement of the paper filter at service intervals. A paper filter is approx $40 while my K&N was $70 from ebay. As long as you keep it clean and oiled, I'd say it's a good bet. Cheers, Dan
  6. Hey Kadbury, What exactly is wrong with the heater? Doesn't work at all? Or you can't change temps? The BA's had a plastic 'mixer' behind the face of the ICC which is used to control the temperature via the knob on the front. They are prone to snapping and this may explain why it's not hot...? I'm not sure about the hissing. May be a hose on the passenger side? A problem with the door seals? Can you give us some more info? Fuel is usually dependent on how hard you drive. My BA XR6T used 13.8L and that was pretty sedate. My new FG F6 uses 12.7 and that's driven the same way. Start sinking the boots in and it will easily go up to 'hard driven' V8 figures. Congrats on the purchase and welcome! Dan
  7. Ok Gents, I'm still after a set of genuine, good condition argents. Dipped the twisty's black but even they've lost my interest now... If anyone hears of any sets for sale, can you please PM me? Happy to pay for them and would like a clean, good condition genuine set. Thanks guys, Dan
  8. Would have loved to head along to this one... Looked like an awesome day! Maybe next time when I haven't got work
  9. Hey Kilmo, I was looking into an intake for my FG F6 a while back and you'd be amazed at how many good quality kits are out there. Process west, Nizpro, Plazmaman, KTM, Herrod, Bluepower etc. And they are all fairly evenly priced. If I was in your position, I'd be looking into what else is out there before you decide on an SS kit - You may find one that you like more
  10. Thanks Angel - Profile pic changed I think I may leave them grey guys. Not thinking I'd be a fan of black but may try a photoshop edit and see.
  11. Did 6 coats per rim of matte black and then 3 coats of gloss. I'm very happy with the way they turned out, but I'm not sure if I should do the panda eyes black to match. Anyway, awesome stuff to use! Seriously easy and comes up a treat
  12. Hey mate, I also wanted to ask why you opted for the rapid muffler replacement over the process west part? From what I see, there doesn't appear to be much of a difference, but I'd be keen to know why. Cheers mate, Dan
  13. That sounds awesome mate! Hoping to do the same when my F6 runs out of warranty. Thanks for the great sound clip
  14. There's a seller on eBay called, "thestrutguys" (I think) and they seemed to have very reasonable prices. May be worth a look into
  15. The Series one F6's did come out with both the 19" twisty's or the optional argents. The series 2 get the "GT" styled 5 spokers across the range I believe. (There hasn't been an 18" rim since the BA straight spoked wheels.) Ryno, there's a gent on here that got almost 325 rwkw tune only from XFT on his Euro4... Good news for me and my Euro4 F6 if it's legit And yep, the MKII's get the projector lights and touch screen command centre as far as I know.
  16. I'd be keen to see the figures too... I've got a 2011 FG F6 and it's currently sitting on 12.8L/100 which is amazing. That's with a fair bit of freeway work but I drive it harder than my old BA. Will look into modding mine when NCW is up so I'll be watching this thread
  17. 2011 FG F6 Winter White, ZF Auto sedan build number 0146 Fully optioned, minus argents.

Thanks Gents, I think I'll get this done on the weekend then. Cheers, Dan
  19. Hello Gents, I'm hoping to change the coolant in my FG F6 this weekend. I've read through the forums and I understand the initial 'coolant' fill is some sort of 50/50 coolant/water. It's gone brown and crappy and the car runs a little hotter than it should. From what I read, apparently Techtaloy 90+ is a good choice but I don't know if it's the same for an FG as opposed to the B-series cars (Which the thread related to). What's the best coolant that I can get from repco or supercheap? I changed the coolant in my BA XR6T a few months ago and I'm assuming it's similar with the F series - Can anyone tell me if it's any different? Anything to note or look out for? From memory is it roughly - Add coolant flush and follow directions, wait for car to cool, drain with radiator plug, rinse through system when block is cold and run car with heater on for a minute or two, redrain then add new coolant, run car until fluid is pulled through system and top up accordingly. Thanks guys, Dan
  20. Hey guys, Got my FG F6 tinted late last week and thought I'd share the new tint laws with you guys. Apparently this has only been passed very recently, but by law we are now allowed 35% tint on the front 2 windows, then as dark as 20% from the B-pillars back. That means the back windows, small back panels and rear windscreen can be as dark as 20% For the official paperwork head to; http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/licensing/21099.asp Scroll down and open (Or follow this link); IB-119C - Window tinting (Information Bulletin) There's a pic of my car with 35%/20% combo in the FPV section and I have to say I'm impressed. It's not as 'contrasting' as you may think... http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/84749-finally-in-an-fg-f6/#entry1384364 Cheers guys, Dan
  21. Hey guys, After much crapping around with the dealership, I'm finally in my own FG F6! I've been wanting an FPV ever since the early Typhoon's came out and to say that I'm stoked is an absolute understatement! I bought a 2011, Winter White FG F6 with 25,000km's on the clock. Came fully optioned except for the argents so it had 6/4 brembo's, reverse camera/sensors, leather upgrade, tech pack, tow pack etc. It was fully optioned as a new showroom car. Build number 0148 with the ZF box. Still has NCW, has full logs and is in immaculate condition. It is such an amazing car to drive and I feel incredibly privileged to finally have my own. Plans include argents/dark rims, maybe plates, trans cooler, inline oil filter and possibly tuning after NCW expires. Had it tinted the other day with the 35%/20% combo and I have to say it came up much better than I had hoped. Look forward to head out on a few more cruises soon and catch up with a few members again Cheers guys, Dan
  22. Hey Rudiger, I have those rims on my FG F6 with the 6/4 pot brembo set-up. I can tell you the 6 pot caliper doesn't have a heap of clearance... Will try to get some photo's up for you later mate. Cheers, Dan
  23. Ah crap... Dug up an old thread... :headbang2:
  24. Dags is spot on. I had my old man's VE V8 (non-AFM) calais for a few days while I was in Melbourne last year. It sat on the road very well, was comfortable, had lots of useable/instant power compared to my old BA T, and was a nice car - both to look at and drive. I've got an FG F6 now, so it's not really apples with apples but as a basis I can roughly compare. The interior I find to be a little more 'classy' with the FG and the driving qualities of the car are very refined. The turbo power is awesome. Neither of them are Euro's and they both have 'cheap' elements and their own shortfalls... Seriously, they are both great car and if you don't need a billion rwkw than you would be happy with either. Just go and DRIVE them both - You'll know which one you prefer... Good luck, Dan
  25. Hey Raband, With the B series you needed to have the battery D/c'ed for a few hours I think to reset everything. Not sure how it goes with the F series though. A 10 minute d/c will reset fuel economy, average speed and pretty much any stored information that you can access from the speedo. I did it the other day with my FG F6. Cheers, Dan
