Coming home from a mates place late last night, I hit this mongrel thing.

This morning I went to go somewhere, and as I was walking past the front wheel I looked down and saw this.

I want to go to the council and try get them to pay for repairs, or a replacement, ( alignment is out aswell ), has anyone gone through this, or know what I need to do?.

P.S.

I'm looking for a set of Zumbo Vaige's, anyone got a set they want to offload?

yep if you have pics of the hole (before they fill it) and pics of the damage ring them and find out who to deal with.

make them pay up for the damage to your wheel and steering! but not an easy process and you must be firm and be able to convince them the hole caused the damage. try and get the council to pay for the damage directly.

its unlucky mate, ive been through this many times.

I think the deal is they'll only compensate if someone reported it and they failed to fix it prior to your incident.

Definitely worth a shot.

Yeah, went back and took plenty of pics, while I was there, it was unreal how hard some cars were hitting it, I'd be surprised if there aren't more people out there with dinged rims from it.

Hey mate,

Not being an a$$ but that happened to me about a year ago. I hit a massive pothole on a roundabout so I had no choice but to go through it as there was a car on my left.

It tore the sidewall of my tyre, took a chunk out of my rim and absolutely shagged my steering. So new tyre, buggered rim and f*cked steering...

Took pics and everything. Sent it to the council to see about repairs and was flat out denied.

Didn't get a friggin' cent and they weaseled their way out of everything - The f*ckers...

Anyway, I hope you get more than I did buddy.

All the best,

Dan

Yeah mate I recently got a 2 inch split in my rim but because it is 20 inch with low profile tyres they didn't want to hear it, sometimes it's not worth the fight

I had a mate go through the council for this in SA and they got their rim fixed. As previously said just be firm and if they dont budge try get the ombundsman (spelling??) involved. Or at least threaten them. Pay enough taxes for these holes to be fixed which most of the time sit there for months on end.

Got to give it a try, nothing to lose.

The wheels I've got are no longer available, so it looks like a complete new set.
