  1. Understand this is an old post but saves starting a new one... Has anyone done this with the resistors in place? How many, what value etc? Or can point me in right direction to find some more info? Also are they going to void insurance? Definitely not ADR approved?
  2. answered by own questions by realising I'm not on the first page of the topics. Apologies.
  3. Hey guys, Bored on my holidays and want to try this out with an old iPhone I have. Do I need to buy an iPhone compatible OBD and are there any which fit beneath the cover (or do they all?) Thanks
  4. Not the greatest photo but all I have on the comp atm.
  5. My mates Mazda 6 fuel pump would cut out intermittently, he said first time he called the RAA the mechanic gave the tank a whack and sure enough it fixed it for a while. Its failed completely now cos he has no common sense. Good luck!
  6. I believe it was exhaust with mine. However can't be sure as my mechanic handled all of it. Mine was the opposite. Fine for 20 secs then started.
  7. those wheels look smick! Nice work
  8. Min 20-22 IMO. If you were able to return to stock and sell parts separately would make more overall but if after quick sale then obviously leave as is.
  9. Morning, Got the partners birthday and christmas presents to get and was thinking of booking in a half day rally course/hot laps out at Tailem Bend. Check out http://www.rallyschool.com.au for more details but basically half day of learning some techniques whilst driving followed by the hot laps. Cost is $595 but found on a website called adrenalin going for $495. Has anyone done it before? Worth it etc? Sam
  10. I had almost the exact same issue of which my mechanic had to replace the cam timing solenoid and phaser. Mine would be fine for first minute or two when the engine is cold and then kick in exactly as you said. As Mick said it could also relate to the timing jumping a tooth.
  11. So noticed my rear spoiler was lifting quite badly on one side where the double sided tape + glue stuff has failed. Took it off easily enough this morning but can not get the gunk off. Any tips? The double sided tape seems easy enough with a pin strip wheel but the black gunky stuff seems pretty stubborn. I've tried WD40, metho etc. I've thought about the fishing line but this harder stuff seems more stubborn than the simple double sided tape you'd find on badges. Car is FG G6ET so no holes or anything to plug. I did a search for rear spoiler removal throughout the forum but I could only find people wanting to plug their holes. Suggestions or direction to previous thread would be appreciated.
  12. Mate I've got better things in my life to do than research the ins and outs of trans coolers and why they may or may not fail. As a customer I wanted to know what options were available and why it was the best option. I asked how much for them to supply and fit the PWR kit and they mentioned they had seen a milkshake occur even with these kits fitted and recommended an external cooler. The strange thing is that they had my car for the day to fit an external cooler however when I returned they said they couldn't fit it because they were concerned for space at the front end. This was enough for me to begin to question the credibility and experience with the ZFs. If this was a random shop I had called I would gladly hand over their details, however as I was put on to them by a good mechanic who also monitors these forums, I'd rather cover my own ass and not say anything. As I said the whole thing seems suss. Just posting what I have HEARD. Because no matter how much more I asked him, or researched, its still only ever going to be info I've HEARD.
  13. Well I'll happily take the blame then. I have nothing to gain from 'slandering' the PWR exchanger, if they were cheaper and I wasn't so broke atm id probably consider fitting it over the external coolers as I've also read the concerns about dropping the trans temps too low and its been a pain in the arse to find someone to fit them. That being said I'd rather give you guys the information I've been told so you can make your own assessment. I also gave an honest assessment of their reliability so take it as a pinch of salt for all I care.
  14. Im not willing to say the shops name sorry guys as I was put on to them by a family friend mechanic and wouldn't want it to come back to me. They weren't willing to fit an external cooler themselves as he wasn't willing to put it behind the foglight and had concerns about its fitment at the front. Hence why I'm taking it elsewhere to someone who has done it before and deals with fords regularly. I found that a little strange in its self, especially being a trans shop. As I said however I'm unsure of their reliability as this is the first time I've delt with them. You would think that someone who has fitted the PWR kit has only done so because they are aware of the issues with the factory exchanger, and therefore if your kit was to fail you would be hearing about it quick smart.
