You can totally disable Win10 updates entirely, I have on mine after it killed my soundcard the morning of my housewarming party. Just stop the Windows Update service and set it to disabled! I think that's what I did anyway. Yep, I've always been able to hear mine. A soft metal sort of noise, hard to explain.

If the Torque app fails, enter Racewars and check your trap speed over 800m, I found mine dropped from 229 to 209km/h after a chair stopper I used to block the BoV pipes (after removing BOV) popped off during a run. But Torque is much more practical

I removed the cooler myself, not too hard but it has to come out downwards and can be tricky to get past the ac condenser/radiator, plus I had to loosen the radiator support bracket. First time I've ever removed the cooler!
