Hi guy's just installed the 3.5" metal cat and had a engine fault come up. I checked a engine fault code which came up saying the cat convertor was not working properly. is there a simple fix to stop this light from coming up again? as It obviously is a new cat installed. ohh it is a BF mkII typhoon. I cleared the fault code with my flash 2 tuner but I don't want to have to constantly keep doing this.

Bosch 044 Very Noisy In Cabin
SILK RSPEC replied to SILK RSPEC's topic in Engine Management & Fuel Systems
What did you actually do and where do I get these from? Did you just mount the pump like with the cootn reels or the whole precess west surge tank from the rails. I noticed If I put my hand on the aluminium fuel pump hose from the surge tank it sounds a heap quieter. -
Hi guy's, got the process west surge tank fitted to the car but the fule pump is much more noisier than I expected. What have people done to quiten these down, should I put rubber under the mounting points or something? any suggestion welcomed. Justin

Thanks guy's wiring up fuel pump tomorrow

Guy's I am intsalling all the stuff on my car and need to fit the procees west surge tank tommorrow, where is everyone getting the power from to run the pump and do I need to find the fuel pump signal wire and run a relay or something? Has anyone got some how to wiring diagrams and photos which would help? I am not to bright when it comes to car wiring, know some basics and can solder that's about it

Any Ideas For Group Buys? - Window shopping for blokes...

I was speaking to a mate of mine that has just got a heap of Hid's from overseas he sell through his business and said he would be a happy to do a group if I arranged it all estimated cost would be $300 a set (two lights) plus postage if there is enough interest I could start one would be the usual min. of 10 sets if we get 20sets maybe even better price again would need to talk to him more about the actual final price and could get some more details about the lights. Still not sure If I will buy a set myself but I know alot of people love hid's. he has them in all the different sizes I think e.g. h1,h4 Not usre about warranty side of things but if they fit them in brisbane at additional charge then they will provide a longer warranty I believe. Oh I was told they are the street legal version for here too. -

2 P-platers Driving Xr6's Caught On M7

At the end of the day te older the person is the more experience thay have. I am sure if you had two forty year olds racing the chances of the accident would be much less. I got my licence when I was 16 in the Northern territory and learn how to put a car sideway on the dirt before I even got my licence. The kids that live in the city today do not learn these defensive driving skills as there is no where to learn them unless you go to a skid pan or have a paddock to play in. I would say out of all the young people that drive that only about 10% max. would be able to handle themselves in an emergency situation. Yes it is easy to correct a car going sideways when you make it go sideways coming around a corner and expect it, different story when you lose traction and not expect it. I have been in a car where a friend was driving down a road doing about 60kms and hit a pot hole and the car started to spin out and he paniked and took his hands off the wheel, and he ew how to put a car sideways I had to lean over form the passengers side and correct the car, so it didn't go into on coming traffic. scared the absolute crap out of me, the only reason we survived I believe is I have raced in motorsport for most of my driving life on and off ad had the skills to deal with the problem. Today's high powered cars can get you to such a high speed and so quickly you can get yourself into trouble before you know it. I am sorry to say but I totally agree with the ruling on not having turbo charged cars for beginner drivers. If people really want to be able to drive that sort of car they should have a good knowledge of driving first. why do you think fpv gives you a free defensive driving course. The problem we will always have is that young people get a large rush driving fast in there new found toy and want to push the envelope all the time, sadly all these people will never have the perfect skills to be able to overcome all incidents, even myslef who has been driving for 20years with at least 15years of motorsport history has a likely hood of having an accident when racing, drifting or whatever else I might be doing, we cannot change several inmportant factors that can help contribute to an accident. 1. weather conditions 2. mechanical reliability of vehicle - e.g broken steerig arms etc from fatigue 3. other people whether it be pedestrians, people in vehicles, etc 4. road conditions - change in roadway due to raodworks etc. the differnece iwth racing is 1. weather conditions - change vehicle dynamics to suit weather 2. mechanical reliability of vehicle - e.g broken steerig arms etc from fatigue - cams does thorough vehicle check e.g. not maintained no racing 3. other people whether it be pedestrians, people in vehicles, etc - everyone on the track is there to rac and has appropriate protection 4. road conditions - change in roadway due to raodworks etc. - you always get to check the trach before you race, you get to see where the hazards are and are advised accordingly. moral of the story.... if you race on the street you pay in some way or another, I would love to race many cars but have learn't that you never know how good the other driver is and if you kill or mame soemone you could be in jail for the rest of your life it is not worth it!!!!! look at what Troy Critchley is going through and he was doing the right thing through a sanctioned event. sorry but especially now that I got kids on the way I appreciate life in a totally new way and will never race on the street again. my $2 worth Hope the guy's are o.k. from this crash and have learn't a little wisdom for what has happended. Everyone makes mistakes that why we have insurance. Just sometimes we need to think a bot more before we put the right foot down on the pedal -
at the end of the day the best fuel you will get is from a servo that sells mostly 98 fuel, I use shell, bp and caltex 98 fuels ans have found them all to be better than each other at one time or another and I only buy generally from 3 different stations, I have noticed that the fuel from a particualr petrol station is usually better when it seems to be a thursday at one of the servo's cause that is when the tanks get filled at that servo in the morning. Worst place I have ever bought fuel for was in townsville many a time I needed to drain the tank and go to another servo cause the octane rating was low causing the motor to retard from the knock sensor.

ford just did a service on my car what a rip off $390 and I think all they did was change the oil and flash the computer, and stick some velcro under the mat which kept slipping and fowling in the pedal. The surging is now pretty much gone, haven't noticed it since the service anyway. The best thing now is I can flash my car soon as my flash tuner comes

I got my drive day in brisbane in about a months time and I can't wait. The best thing will be that my car will be modified with 300+kw before I go so it should make it much more fun to do do you think they will notice it isn't stock

2.25 inch pipework = 57.15mm dia. = 10260mm2 x 2pipes = 20521mm2 area 2.5 inch = 63.5mm dia. = 12667mm2 x 2 pipes = 25335mm2 3 inch = 76.2mm = 18241mm2 area 3.25 inch = 82.55mm dia. = 21408mm2 area 3.5 inch = 88.9mm dia. = 24828mm2 area 3.75 inch = 95.25mm dia. = 28502mm2 area 4 inch = 101.6mm dia. = 32429mm2 area therefore you require a minimum of a 3.25 inch pipe to be greater than 2 x 2.25 inch pipes and 3.75 inch pipework to be greater than 2 x 2.5 inch pipes this is only if you want to keep to same velocity of the exhaust gases if they are the same temperature. exhaust gases shrink when they cool so theoretically to keep the same velocity in the pipework the dump pipe should be larger than the twin exhaust pipes. the back pressure increases and velocity when the pipework is smaller. the smaller the pipework the faster the gas needs to run to get the same amount of flow through the exhaust. the friction loss through the pipework restricts the velocity to a maximum number eventually. The higher the velocity the noisier things get (well that is the case with water anyway) Someone who is a mechanical engineer may be able to elaborate on this, the best way to test what would be the best bang for buck would be to install the exhaust and measure the back pressure in them or alternaively install an air flow meter on a free to air exhaust pipe say just after the dump to work out the required air flow that has to travel through the pipe and calculate the best size from there but this cost time and money.

latest APC magazie has a write up blackberry versus I phone. I read it and I think I will stick with my O2 Atome exec, it rocks Did you know in the write up that the iphone doesn't use the new band that vosaphone, telstra etc are going to which means you will have a phone using old technology and paid to much for it .... LOL... suckers
