Race Stripes
I thought about doing the same thing to my silk rspec using the same colour as the car but dropping some more drak tinter in it so it is real subtle the problem is to get is sprayed is real expensive :( cause you need to clear coat everything once finished to get that smooth feel over the car.

F6 Vs Hsv
would of won easily if you had of not had that can of coke and pie before hand ....oooh and you should of taken the hand brake off that will slow you down.... hehe Pretty tough commodore, would of been a fun race side by side like that it has only ever happened to me twice on the track at a street meet.

Oils Ain't Oils: Best Engine Oil for the Barra Turbo
I spoke to FPV today and was told that they only accept a 15w-40 weight oil in our cars and are happy for it to be changed to a synthetic as long as it is 15w-40. I told them that a ford dealership put 0w-40 halvoline synthetic oil in my car at the 3000klm service and they said my motor was not covered with that oil even though it was put in by a ford dealership. (what a joke) They said that if anything went wrong then you would have to try and get it repaired by (taking legal action against most likely) the Ford dealership that put the oil in the car. Does anyone know how we can get a partition together or something to find out what synthetic oils we can actually use? I know if I was going to the ski fields in NSW I wouldn't want to put a 15w oil in.

Rspec Exhaust Upgrade What Cat Size Pipework
Hi guy's, I am about to have all the good stuff installed on my car and am unsure about what I need to change on my car to get good Kw @ the rears. I was hoping for around 300Kw for standard type tune, then a hot lap track tune up around the late 300Kw's or early 400Kw's Will the standard exhaust go upto 400kw? with a cat and say a dump pipe? I was looking at the catco cats but wasn't sure what the Rspec pipework sizing is, is it 3" standard? also is there someone that sells the catco cats in brisbane? Thanks, Justin

Fumoto Drain Valve Worthwile Investment
Some more photo's as they came in the mail today express post. It is basically a ballvalve with a spring loaded valve to hold it closed so it can't easily get bumped open. This is the one without the nipple the nipple one has a nipplr on the bottom of it. Apparently in europe some of the places fit nipple plugs so they can suck the oil out at the mechanics shop with a special air compressor tool to make oil changes really fast. All I know is once you fit one you never want to change oil the old way again.

Fumoto Drain Valve Worthwile Investment
was told f-109 is part no. for the 4Litre bf barra motor add "n" to it if you want the nipple on the end e.g. f-109n.

Fumoto Drain Valve Worthwile Investment
Hi guy's, I just went and bought a fumoto drain valve for the falcon and thought I would let everyone know about them. I have used them on my subi's they are great!!! You can buy these draina plugs with or without a nipple on them, the nipple is good when the sump is in a hard to reach place as you can add a hose. they are basically as ball valve which goes into your sump plug hole. they make it easy to drop the oil and you can do it when the oil is still warm which makes it real easy to do oil changes. the valve also is spring loaded so you can't accidently open the valve. makes oil changing real easy. They have 30% off at the moment so thay are only $33 each plus $7 for postage. there web site is www.fumoto.com.au

Port Douglas In July
If you want a good steak Cock and Bull in Cairns is great for a meal kind of like hogs breath/ pup but heaps better and if you order there death by chocolate desert you prabably don't want to eat the steak first as it is huge difenetly as sharing type desert. I lived in Townville but worked up there alot about 5 years ago. whenever I am on holidays seeing mates up there we go to the cock and bull. Also the karanda range is good for a drive as well if you got a good hire car or even better on a bike or the giles ranges south of cairns depends what you are up to whilst up there and have transport.

Wiper Washers
I am going to fix mie as it has been really annoying me, you can get one way valves for them that go in the washer hoes line so the water doesn't run back through the pump. I think nissan has them on there cars from memory, I could arrange a group buy but they are only worth about 20c each ....lol hence the reason I havne't done it yet, take more time to get the part than install it

Loan Cars
I have had a datto 180B - terrible brakes and had to top up water every day a sigma wagon auto - was that bad I took it back and borrowed a friends car mazda r100 with a 13b in it - that was fun but very expensive to fill up and that was even back in the early 90's

Car Surging When Cruising (rspec)
Hi guy's, My car has almost 15oooklms on it and have noticed lately it has started to surge when cruing along doing the speed limit. Has anyone else had this problem and is it an esy fix or should I let ford check it out at my next service. I am just trying to make sure the car is all fine before the big power mods start in a couple of weeks. Hate working on a car that already has a problem. Seems to do it more when the car is cold I have noticed.

Which Is The Easiest Colour To Maintain
My Rspec is silk in colour and have has heaps of people asking what colour it is. I find that it stays pretty clean looking for about 2 weeks and then starts to look dirty if it has been raining a bit. Best colout I have ever owned was my champaigne GT forester could be filthy as and you couldn't notice the grime at all from about 5 metres away

Golf Gti
I was going to buy one and then bought the fpv drove a DSG one and the fuel economy is bad if you drive it hard which is pretty much how I dirve all my cars was much the same as the f6 for fuel economy was also more expensive for insurance, parts and repairs harder to sell at resale. $15000 for a new DSG box minimum and know has had to repair one yet as the cars aren't old enough to know what reapir costs are, little scary in my opinion from a maintenace point of view.

Magna Flow Cats?
Just wondering where this 560cfm number came from did someone actually do some testing somewhere? also is this for the stock XR6 exhaust or for a BF mkII typhoon exhaust? I am thinking about getting a catco metal cat but can't see the point in going to big if the exhaust isn't up to it. I would difently oversize it by 200cfm more than the stock exhaust though. The more it flows the less resistance it has at a lower cfm (flow) rated exhaust which means maximum possible power out (flow) of that exhaust. http://www.catco.com.au/mainFrameset.htm

Elite's F6 Pb
Paul, I am showing one of my mates your setup on the web and he wants to know how much it is for the intercooler and pipework setup for his phoon (kit price only) as he wants to install it himself to save some $$$$ also interested in what dyno coats would be as well to get it tuned after he has set everything up.

S. E. Queensland Tune Centres?
rob from 101 motorsport is a good tuner has tuned many hi horsepower cars CNJ motorsport are good also but will always tune conservatively APC is good is you can get Nick to tune your car but he is hard to get hold of. I was promised Nick to tune my GT forester when I had it and had someone else there do it and I was not happy with it so Nick retuned it and then it was o.k. but price was expensive. I heard Godzilla is supposed to be pretty good but I think the good tuner they had has now moved back the Perth. Mercury Motorsport is also pretty good at tuning Wrx's not sure about other cars though. Elite seems to be o.k. from what I see as well but I haven't met anyone who has had there car tuned but I had a look at some of the afr's they had on the wall in there office and they seemed o.k. Anyway, I am sure people will recommend or bag any of these tuners, I have heard of engines going bang on many of these tuners dyno's but at the end of the day the engines that usually go bang have been built by someone else and take to that shop to dyno. It is hard for a tune to know whether a engine is going to go bang or not doesn't matter how safe you are, you onlu have to have an engine builder forget to tighten a bolt or something for an engine to go bang, or wrong tolerences and engine oil. far to many variables to gaurantee never blowing up an engine or two escpecially if you tune 1000's of cars every year.
