Awesome.  Get a set of good brake calipers and....paint them green!   The 4 piston Brembo fronts are enough for track work I think, Nelsonian101 uses them and his is pretty fast from what I've seen in his thread.

My 6t started to act weird on me the other day, on a drive from my home in Traraglon to Box Hill, about half way there I noticed it was running a little warmer than normal.

Usually it was sitting about mid way through the squiggle on the left side of the 1/2 way mark on the temp gauge and wouldnt budge regardless of conditions.

So as I said, it was running warmer. It was creeping up to 1/2 mark and even got a little over at one point. This is at 100kph in 6th gear, cold day, on cruise control, fairly flat freeway. When it got to 1/2 the thermo fans really kicked in, quite loudly.

Once I got off the freeway though temps actually went down and stayed at "normal" temps.

On the drive home, several hours later, it did the same thing. Hovering around 1/2 and even bouncing a good mill or two higher when going up a very slight gradient.

So the next morning, fearing a blown head gasket I did the usual checks, coolant looked clean, oil looked clean, no stream of bubbles in the coolant. All looked good. With a bit of relief I figured maybe its just the thermostat was sticking.

So picked up a higher flow unit from autobarn and swapped it in. By the time I did that I didnt have time to flush the coolant though.

Had to drive to Laverton and back the next day. Sat steady on the far left side of the previously mentioned squiggle, so basically about 1/3. I was fairly happy. However I did notice when getting into built up stop start traffic jam.on freeway it did start to climb but basically never even reached 1/2. Basically got the the old "normal" spot if that makes sense. Never heard the thermo fans really kick in again. Seemed good. Did notice when I got home and parked up I could hear it bubbling away but didnt have a hot smell or anything like that.

Does it sound like something serious or to be concerned with to you guys? Or am I just being overly paranoid about it?

Just not sure what is normal for an xr6t. It doesnt seem quite right to me but it seems to drive fine so yeah... any thoughts?

Mine will hover around 70c to 90c no matter what I do. I think I'm going to drop a cooler thermostat in it and see what happens.

I get paranoid as well. It never goes over half way but. I'm just worried about the heatsoak.

That's totally normal for an XR6T.
