thanks mate , they are so fine that you can hardly see them . had to use fine sandpaper to get them to appear . the good news is that it is the correct number that the guy said that sold me the engine .just did not trust him when he sold the 6 speed manual on me

Spray the engine number with brake clean and as it dries the engine number becomes very easy to read (momentarily) .

the engine has on inspection oil in the intake manifold ,and it looks like that the ports have cracks in the casting . the cracks are just about all the way along the port . what opinions have you guys got about this ?

Oil in the intake manifold is normal unless a catch can has been run from day dot. Cracks like that.....not so normal me thinks

looks like the $8500 for a engine rebuild would have been the better option ,easy to say now . should have could have ,karnt or no karnt when is this bad luck going to stop lol .have considered to just buy a new mazda 4x2 for $25000 and sell the car as a rolling shell or as is take it away for cheap ,might just cut my losses and move out of fast cars .never owned one and looks like I will never have one ether .

Ford do not put loctite on the manifold studs, the threads are tight, and what you have experienced is what happens on a regular basis
