Can you safely do this if you stay off boost?

Reason is I'm fitting myself and driving to the tuner (around a 5hr drive), if I stay off boost will I be safe? I'll fit injectors when I get to tuner but the actuator is a *beep* to change out fast.

Or... Would I be better off adjusting and winding the arm out so the gate is always open, then it's impossible to overboost - is this safe?

Car is BF2 XR6T, already has flapper mod done plus gutted cat and centre muffler delete.

IMO get the actuator done at the tuner as well as squirters

Bits are then fitted and tuned. Personally wouldn't meddle with it.

It's a flying visit, I have a small window to get it done hence wanting to fit myself - I know it's easier if they do it and guarantees on work and all that but I either need to arrive down there earlier and do it outside myself or do it before I leave.

Nobody here is going to recommend it, its going to really come down to how you drive it. Its not just about keeping revs low. You need to consider how load effects boost, things like hills ect. 5hrs is just increasing the chance of something going wrong exponentially. Its your gamble to take...

You just gotta keep it at light load. No boost!

going to get my car tuned tomorrow by real dyno .I have fitted a different turbo wheel and actuator .I got my brakes done the other day (not by real dyno ),and the guy that test drove the car over boosted the engine .it went all the way to 23 plus psi .it could have easily thrown a rod out the side .so just take it easy mate

Use torque to monitor boost and load.

I will recommend it.

I drove 6 hours with

Gtx

4" dump 3.5" exhaust

Plaz cooler kit

Surge tank

The works

All off boost, if I put my foot down boost wouldn't stop climbing.... If you wanna save a bit do it yourself and drive to your tuner off boost you will be fine!!
