Powder Coated Calipers

hi everyone

anyone had experience with powder coating calipers? Does it work? Is it a good idea? Heat an issue?

or is it best to just paint them. I want them done once and done right..

Howdy,

The quickest and easy way is to paint them. You still can achieve a good result, just as long as you prep the area well.

Powder coating will take a day or 2 and if they don't cover the holes properly it will be very hard to put it back together.

isnt it advised to wait a certain period of time if they are painted?

when I did mine a few years ago on me commy I drove it about 2 hours after, heat helps dry the paint (so it said on can) when I did me fords I waited a day as I was doing other work....been fine and have not had a problem with the commys on.

just make sure you clen the surface properly as if you dont it will peel off in no time

That Powder coat looks awesome. Painted ones in bright colours always look tacky IMO

Yeah just a bit worried about caliper heat though....anyone got an idea of what sort of degrees they can get up to...?

F6E on AFF painted his Brembos Silver and has a full right up on it. Looks good, worth the effort to do it properly.

I painted mine not powder coated. I supose its what you want, if you can afford to get it powder coated then sure why not....im sure the best person to speak to is the person powder coating it to see if its suitable etc......after all they "shoud" know what powder coating can and cannot do lol
