My 160GB classicworks okay in the FG, BUT you do have to have it playing a song when you plug it into the connector otherwise, zilch...

I already reported that in the ipod issues thread

all new generation ipods which were released two days ago are not compatible

including gen 4 nano

the software was made before they were.

I figure that Ford should upgrade their system to cope with all models.

It is a "Ipod" connector, not a some ipod connector. Afterall it is a feature and would only require a software upload.

the ipod function worked for about 8 weeks. tried it with 3 different ipods. ford says they have to replce the whole kit. still being a new model. dont think they had a clue.

Interesting I might test that out.

Mine works fine. I have the 80gb classic and have tried the 160gb classic and that worked great as well. You don't have to have a song playing. Just plug and play. I did have an issue with mine after the 1st week....it unplugged itself behind the dash and mine stopped working. It would charge the ipod but not play any songs. If I took the ipod off pause then plugged it in it would play for a split second then nothing. At the 3k service they had to pull my dash out to plug it back in again
