Note sarcasm font...Henz I was thinking more the heavy artick vehicle not the average tradie truck, as long as it can move off from a set of lights at the same pace as the average car without impeding traffic flow....but yeah as I said there would have to be a hell of a lot of pre planning to implement such a system at it would always put somebodies nose out. In fact it usually takes longer to travel in the opposing direction or across the peak flows than it does if you're in the peak flow yourself. But yeah apparently is a fairly substantial system to operate, all controlled remotely via cams etc. Buses also are given priority so that if they are facing a red light then the lights will cycle faster.Brisbane traffic is still sh*tful at times, but they must be doing something right as it's much better than any other capital I've been in.Although the best engineering and programming will never be able to manage human behaviour; we have an amazing ability to out-stupid any theory. I think it was Topgear that did an experiment that threw half a dozen people in identical vehicles and got them to drive in a circle following each other at a constant pace, there were no obstructions or obstacles but there was still a bit of capillary action going on from people not being able to judge the speed of the vehicle in front of them and over-braking/over-accelerating etc.Once Julya's NBN is finished it won't be an issue though. Brisbane was the pilot program though.. It makes it better.. But of course doesn't satisfy everyone.Even if there was a solution that completely eliminated congestion, some tool would still find a problem with it. Or you can witness it in real life on the Bruce Highway heading in to Brisbane right about now on a typical Sunday arvo. You will go from 110 to 20 for no apparent reason about ten times in a row and then it sort-of smooths out again. Sofa king frustrating. 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/83225-traffic-congestion-in-peak-hour-is-this-a-good-idea-or-not/page/4/#findComment-1337454 Share on other sites

Posted 16/12/12 08:08 AM Share Posted 16/12/12 08:08 AM lol that's a good video Trent. To many idiots out there that dont have the brain power to realise that you can drive without your foot pinned to the floor constantly, if its not on the accelerator it must be on the brake right? Its very frustrating watch a car in front braking with nothing in front of them on a straight flat road. fordom Member 145 Member For: 15y 6m 28d Gender: Male Location: sydney Posted 16/12/12 09:00 AM Share Posted 16/12/12 09:00 AM So when I'm driving to work, merging onto the ring road in the added lane, and a truck that's come from the west gate decides it wants to be in the left lane (crossing a half merged lane between the left and middle lanes, and an unbroken line in the process), without using indicators, to be right where my car is....that's MY fault?obviously that's a one off and doesnt happen everyday.honestly when entering a highway I always do about 10km/h over the hwy speed limit which gives u the advantage of going either infront of or by slowing down, behind a car/truck that's traveling on the highway if that makes sense. and in a f6/xr6t that's no problem Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/83225-traffic-congestion-in-peak-hour-is-this-a-good-idea-or-not/page/4/#findComment-1337508 Share on other sites
