I was Googling the difference...or the pro's and con's between a XR6T and XR8.

Have FG XR6T Ute.

Just had the 3k Ford "piece of mind" service - I asked them what the engine 'stutter' on start up was (this has developed on start up and ceases a few seconds later) - Ford delaer said it was a common fault with no fix as yet - they checked the vehicle has the latest software installed and it does.

It begs the question - if the FG has been out for about two years then how come Ford haven't come up with a fix?

Any pointers would be much appreciated. Also what basic mods are recommended that don't void a warranty. Or do all mods void warranty?

Ive had my black turbo ute for 3 months now and loving it! So far it is practically all stock. Just got a pod filter and I have vented the stock BOV since reading the forums :] Got the windows tinted last week too. Not much plans for the future as far as performance mods go. Maybe an exhaust for a bit of noise, and I do like the look of a big shiny intercooler.

hey all,

been a member for a while now (used to own an acid rush BA XR8 until december last year).

I upgraded to a 1/2011 FG XR6T sedan in sunburst.

I got the car with leather, ZF auto, reverse cam, bluetooth and Ipod for 33k (best xmas pressie so far... until I get the drag car anyway )

the only mods I've done to it is a autometer cobalt boost gauge, 19 inch ANZ Velvet mags (off my old BA) and a K&N filter.

planned mods are: intercooler and piping, 4 inch exhaust and 100 cell cat, tune and upgraded brakes and coil overs with a kw limit of 330rwkw (see xmas present note above)

taking the xr6t out to sydney dragway this saturday to see what 1/4 mile time I can do in full street trim as a base figure.

About all you can do while keeping your Warranty intact is a K&N Air Filter. Basically, anything else and you run the risk of voiding your Warranty. Best thing to do is talk to your Dealer and see how forgiving they are with mods. Some will have a little leeway while others will have nothing to do with it (and they aren't obliged to of course).

As for engine stutter, there's a thread somewhere about others with this issue at the moment...I'll have a look for it.

Was that for a Demo or Second-Hand? How many km's?
