  1. wohoo I made the top 50 last night. 10.841 @ 131.31 1.793 60' post time slip after work
  2. if my ANDRA licence comes back beforehand (renewal) I should be there (do street car rules apply for TNT and FTF's?) if not ill have to do wed the 14th first
  3. while 466 is a badass number, its also like you said matt, going to break stuff. that's why we dropped it to 438 (even with the drop there's the risk of breaking stuff) im keen to get the car back on the 1/4 to see where we are at, not only ET and mph wise, but to re learn everything from scratch again. as they say the bull**t stops when the green light drops, but hey isn't that why we mod cars?
  4. nice work mate. lee's certainly getting some good numbers up there atm. im interested to see what he gets from the FGX 6Tin the near future.
  5. yeah bout $1500 plus fitting. re-tubes are heaps cheaper though. been sick of doing things twice, so went the full replacement this time lol
  6. true. running 18psi on flex tunes glad I did the tailshaft mod now with the extra power. well worth it dude.
  7. lol thanks. nah definitely a gt (wasn't game to push the extra $$ with the finance minister.. in enough trouble already lol) new hands, new ideas, wanted a change after nearly 7yrs
  8. I know hey. all 3 of them are similar (the 466 one is a big ragged but still... :-) )
  9. after a year of searching for the answer to the issues I had in the FG XR6T and a change of workshops, I have finally joined the 400 club. what was supposed to be a fairly normal test session at Sydney Dragway after a retune and fuel system upgrade, turned out to be a long journey. the fg nosed over at 330ft and lost all power. after packing up, I started it up and got a death rattle that sounded like an old state transit train. thinking it was finally the end of the 3576 turbo (had a great run over the 3 years, 335rwkw on 98 and 373rwkw on Powerplus E85) boy was I wrong. 11 weeks (a delay in transport, a break in and a hospital trip) I finally picked up my car today. Justin at Blacktrack Performance in Cardiff, has transformed the FG into an absolute weapon. The turbo was upgraded to a GT35/82R, we also added a Gibson Chromemoly HD tailshaft, and the cause of the death rattle..... one stuffed flexplate. so we added a Nizpro HD upgraded plate and ARP bolts. the result. First run on E-flex was a staunch 466.3rwkw. considering the Fg is also my S/ST drag car (11.00 to 12.99 class) I had the tune reduced to 438rwkw and another flex for a Mrs tune at 396rwkw. the change is unbelievable, driving back to Sydney (with the occasional squirt) the fuel economy was below 9.2l/100km (best I ever got was a 12.2 and that was stock) yet smash the pedal, and even im trying to climb out of the boot lol. so mods done are: wlabro 460l E85 pump and larger cradle 1000d injectors Gibson HD 900hp tailshaft Nizpro HD flexplate Plazmaman HD valve springs GT35/82R turbo, flapper mod and 12psi actuator Xforce 4 inch dump, 5 inch cat and 3 1/2 inch catback Rapid Systems V2 intercooler, piping and battery relocation. next step is to test the tune and see where abouts in the10's we are. cheers
  10. Bwahahahahaha shoot that mechanic! I had the same issues with my car. It's currently getting re tuned (as well as a few more mods) and the problem will hopefully be gone for good. Feels like you're in a summernats car hey?

try doing your burnouts in manual shift (better throttle and revs control. hold it at 5800- 6000rpm then shift 2nd as you lift off brake shift 3rd.) seems to work with mine. first time after retune I did the burnout in "D" for drag I hit the limiter too hard and went into limp mode with lotsa squeal and no smoke lol. when you launch try and feed the power until you can work out the sweet spot (bit like a manual) I've been working on this for over 90 passes now (still finding more things to tweak as I go but hey that's the challenge) with seat time it will get easier. now who says drag racing is just driving fast in a straight line? lol good luck with it and keep us updated on how you go.
  12. Thanks for the replies. Worked out its definitely the pump. Where can I get a higher pressure regulator from? I know we sell them at ford but.... I'm getting the 400l e85 walbro pump fitted up
  13. Hey, I currently have a walbro 225l in tank pump running flex (street) & e85 (race tune) in my fg turbo (small turbo running 360rwkw on e85) The pump feels like its slowly dying. At half track I get really bad surge (like it's running out of fuel) but if I lift off off a second then hit again it's fine. Is the pump to low for that power levels? I'm thinking of putting the 420l pump in but need more info. 1. Will it fit in (I.e swap over without having to re wire pump considering there's a walbro there now)? 2. Is it worth putting a higher pressure reg in? 3. Can this be done without having to put a surge pump in (don't have the space for it... Kids etc)? Thanks
  14. shouldn't need to replace crossmember (metal bracket) unless it's taken a big hit. when you're shifting was there a clunk sound (not diff bush related)? I think I've done gearbox bush on the fg. only noticeable in manual mode 1-3rd gear though.
