Standard Sway Bar Modification

Hey guys,

I was looking at my standard sway bar (front) and noticed there is enough room to drill a second hole just behind the standard bolt holes. This would theoretically make the bolts closer the bushes, and inturn stiffen the sway bar setting. My question is, can anyone see an issue in doing so? The bolt holes on the "whiteline" adjustable bars are only mm's apart from each other yet supposedly make a noticable difference between each setting. I cant see why it cant be done to the standard one at a cost of zero dollars!

What's your thoughts.

No idea but it's worth looking in to, even if you stuff it up you can easily get another bar from the wreckers for stuff all.

I got whiteline ones, one of the best mods ever... If you can pull it off using the standard ones I say go for it..

Man you notice difference driving since you put the whiteline swaybar ?? and how much they set you back? $$

on a b series the whiteline bars are one of the best mods to date imho and at less than 330 for front and back do it, from memory front was like 170 plus 15 delivery(front), and just the front was amazing then the rear really does finish it off

Yeah what JETSNOT said, huge difference.. The car fells a lot sharper and less of a heavy boat.. I got mine off a forum member for $200 both front and rear..

I think the size we use is 27mm for the front and 22mm for the rear, but make sure.. You can also get adjustable ones, but I've never used them so can't comment, bit more expensive I think too, but seriously how often are you gonna adjust them?

If theres enough meat in the end of the bar to allow you to drill a second hole, without weakening the bar, then its worth a go. Cant hurt to try and the stiffness may actually be somewhere between that of a stock bar and an aftermarket bar. I found the 27mm bar really worked the front tyres hard, making it understeer more but certainly roll less.
