I have 8-10lt of zf fluid forsale $200 on the sunshine coast

just a bit of an update. dont around 1000kms since servicing my box with Guld Western. At the moment I ma noticing, alot more than before . Large thudds at gear changes. Under small loads of boost and large, both on drive and performance mode> more so in performance.

Slowing down in performance, 2nd to 1st is always lurchy and when giving it a boot the thudd it gives when dropping back is definetly noticeable.

Also the their seems to be an increased "Burning smell" or at least a smell of the something heating up when even just giving it very little amounts of stick for short periods of time.

When I service the car this weekend il get my mechanic mate to have a look at the fluid and box when we put it over the pit.

Doesn't sound good. Is the level correct? Also try taking the bung out just a little and have a smell of the oil.

Ok, so I'm getting a lot of different info from this thread & not really the answers I'm looking for. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

Who has had this done in Brisbane? Flush, pan, filter, oil etc?

How much did it cost?

Where did you get it done?

Last time I spoke to MV automatics they said they hadnt touched the ZF trans and were not going to due to being too technical....was about 12 months ago...good to see they are now doing them..

I get that too so I was thinking I might edit the pcm to stop it dropping down to first until the car stops moving if that's possible.

I have the recommended stuff but I think I will get the GW next time.

I lost about half a litre of oil when I was changing the engine over last weekend when the torque converter fell out on the ground (doh!) but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

Which gasket does everyone use? I've been told that there is a paper one and a rubber one? Which is the best for the plastic pan or the steel pan?

I think the metal pan has the paper gasket and the plastic pan has the rubber one. The pan must be done up properly with a torque wrench in the right order if using the metal pan with the paper gasket or it will leak. I won't be using those pricks again

Metal pan you can replace the filter yourself. Plastic pan it's built in. I think it's actually possible to hack the original plastic pan to fit a filter in. I saw a thread on here somewhere about it.

they serviced mine in 2010. genuine oil, steel pan conversion, fixed leaking grommit where wiring goes into the box. $800

pretty sure theyve been doing them the whole time
