well blokes had the pleasure of driving one of the first zf tuned cars in australia today and its everything we want!!! first up it was all thanks to martin donnan @ willall racing for letting me have a first hand shot in a g6et (herrods own)and I just want to let all us zf boys know what we have been waiting for is here and your gunna love it.

iam just giving the facts and as time goes on these tunes(zf) will only get better and more refined :icon_ford:

so driving it very easy theres an instant feel of a precise firm shift into 2nd very along the lines of a shift kitted btr and this is in normal mode then changes into 3rd with the same firm bump already u can tel the box is the way it should be in a performance car.

so with a bit of throtle still in normal mode the shifts firm up even more and that solid feel u get leaves a smile on the dial :icon_ford: so time to select performance mode wow 1-2 change has that very same btr shift fast and precise exactly what has been missing all along no slop no waiting no hesitation straight away hit the shifter and wack its there and the same feel as it goes 2-3 and then 3-4 totally transformed this g6et into a firm sleeper :pleasantry:

anyways after a bit of "testing" I can confirm it acts perfictly going 1-2-3- in a straight line no limiter no hesitation just straight into gear boost up and on song all the way absoloute pleasure I tel ya

so after a long chat there will be r&d done on herrods GS with a hi stall converter because lets face it that's what we all really want right ??? I sure know I do 60ft times will tumble and tailshafts might remain in one piece . as far as I know it should be a dominator converter with the twin lock up system and all these lock up settings will be fully variable to what u want.

so as far as it goes now the tuning software is done and the ability to fully manipulate this zf box is here all it takes now is for your tuner to sit the corse and learn the programe before he or she gets a chance to play with the zf software.

one feature iam really keen on is the fact u can have settings for normal mode say a nice soft change then with the flick to the left of the selector into performance mode u can have everything firm up and act like a "fully shift kitted box" this is the best of both worlds.

just thought id pass on some usefull info that I dare say were all intrested in and let the good times roll :3gears:

this is the tuning of all zf boxes to my knowledge 6 speed auto xr8/xr6/xr6t/gt/gs/g6e/g6et and so on ull have to ask your tuner the cost of this feature as it requires a retune of your vehicle(or update file) or a complete tune if u do not have one

Can they tune it to drive like normal on light throttle? I'd hate to have it banging away as you've described in every day driving.

it can be configured to any combination u would want in any slot of the flash 3 so u have 3 files on the x3 plus 2 modes on the selector so u could have for arguement sake 6 different styles 100% fully ajustiable in every setting u would want

tune 1 for the crusing tune 2 for the hills and tune 3 for the drags .......what more can u want :buttrock:

Road Salmon is a very competant man, however there were still gremlins as little as a week ago.

There were some major reflashing errors across the country with the ZF software.

I speak from experience, that said I'm glad that Rob Herrod and the boys have it sorted

What I really want is boost control by gear.

This for me is the single most obvious function missing for proper performance.

Having to run a detuned car because of this lack of functionality is such a waste.
