Planking

Planking, basically the act of laying like a plank in a random place.

Its made the news after someone planked a police car.

Suddenly its taken off. I have friends making facebook albums of themselves planking and there filling up quickly!

Nate Shaw, 20, from Gladstone, told Nine News: "I want to become the best planker there is".

Planking involves a person lying face down, stiff as a board with arms at your side, in unusual places — and then having someone photograph the pose and slap it on the Internet.

Facebook page Planking Australia has drawn "likes" from more than 10,000 people.

It includes photos of people lying over office desks, brick walls, railway tracks, trees, a beer barrel, a chair lift and a speed hump.

Police spotted the photo of Shaw on Facebook and on Tuesday night issued him with a notice to appear in court later this month on a charge of being found on police establishment without lawful excuse.

Shaw told Nine News: "I know they're doing their job, but I don't really see the problem with a few guys having a bit of fun. It's not hurting anyone. I haven't caused any damage. It's not breaking anything."

But Gladstone police Sergeant Matthew Russell told the Courier-Mail: "While we appreciate the activity is light-hearted fun, putting yourself and others at risk and breaking the law will not be tolerated".

He said planking on private property without permission could lead to trespassing charges and suggested anyone involved in high-risk activities deemed to be too extreme could also face charges

Was at Maccas friday night before the footy, and a group of kids still in school uniform at 7pm were 'planking' on the ground.. Seriously, is there nothing better to do with your lives?? To think these 'people' will run the country one day...
