I see that a coiple of you are sayin you have 3000rpm converters installed in yor ZF 's, I am pretty keen on this idea so would ,like to know what your impressions of them are are they worth while, where did you get them and what tuning mods were needed? cheers
darios typhoon Member 73 Member For: 17y 3m 26d Gender: Male Location: northern beaches Posted 15/12/10 05:30 AM Posted 15/12/10 05:30 AM answer to your question the 3000 converter is really good its worth doing the converter stalls up in first and second only and its like stock when driving normal just when you take of harder it will go on the stall it brings the power on quicker from down low in first and second gear mine was done by dominellos auto 96515803 tony you will be very happy with it .

Dyno Junkie Member 254 Member For: 19y 6m 9d Gender: Male Location: Ascot, Western Australia Posted 16/12/10 08:57 AM Posted 16/12/10 08:57 AM The thing to remember about stall converters is the stall speed is determind by the amount of torque being put through them.Our TTG will foot stall to ~3,000rpm and will only drop 500rpm on gear changes. This is a standard ZF, but with 80% more power being made by the engine I.e. the power is almost doubled and the standard converter stalls a lot higher.

Legacy Donating Member 23,708 Member For: 18y 3m 26d Gender: Male Location: Adelaide Posted 20/10/12 07:40 AM Posted 20/10/12 07:40 AM So with the ZF tunes been out for a while now, how many people have installed different converters and what have the results been like?Still havent heard much but I do know the herrod gt/gs has been used for a bulk amount of r&d through willall racing The most I got out of martin was that its a very custom dominator product ( twin lock up like the std converter. ) and all the software worked like a dream with it And bend over for the cost of the unit .Aparently a few more dollars than a normal dominator $1350 currently so id ballpark @ 2k plus fitting and tuning 1
