I used to hate the internet but now I see the benefits. No longer does television, radio, newspaper with all their "experts" have the same control over public opinion. that's why the government wanted to put get hold of it with their filters; they recogonise how dangerous true democracy is.

Try being a teacher! I teach Maths but I continually correct English errors and the students hate it... But it drives me insane!

But I can top most people... We had a job for a teacher at school and THREE, yes THREE, applicants had used "text language" in their application! For an English position!

Thank god Maths has it's own language that the little f*ckers won't mess with!

At work I have hired three staff this year and the quality of covering letters was poor. I did not accept any resume with text typing, I dumped them straight in the trash!!! Applying for teaching roles using text language shows a complete lack of judgement. On that basis alone I would not consider that person. Don't people remember the good old saying "you only get one chance at a first impression"? Dickheads! What chance will my children have?

True Newl but surely its not too much to expect our teachers to be leading by example and teach the correct version. The kids will always find a way to bastardise our language, the teachers don't need to show them how to do it.

Did the same very recently, even had one poor bitch that was overqualified and asked why she didn't get an interview that was in tears when I told her. Sorry...if you can't proof-read something that sells yourself then how bad must your regular output be?
