The demographic in terms of entry level into T16 cars has inecreased dramatically due to cost, thought bubble

In the age of texting , social networks. etc are the arts of correct spelling and Captain Grammar lost to us?

I read at least 2 books a week, and I am alarmed at the mind numbing ineptidude of persons being able to

express themselves in the correct fashion.

This is just something I thought,so chucking out there

Is texting etc killing the English language ?

huh what, Thing I notice more is how RUDE the average person is getting these days . The interweb and all it's wonders seems to have convinced people that personal communication is nothing more than a waste of their time.

this is something we struggle with with julies 16 year daughter. goes to school can't spell or read because they don't have to as they just use a computor and it has spell chech.

Add to that phone txting and msn and alike and all need to spell correctly is gone.

And you are right about ruddness she does not see many of her friends just stays home and talks to them over internet.

When she is with them they don't know how to talk to each other.

It is very sad and scary that this is what our world is coming too.

I've given up being a grammar and spelling nutter towards anyone here on the forum. The results of doing so make me want to do this .

The best, positive thing that I can do is to educate and raise my children in such a way that they will not reflect the actions or behaviors of those that Buffy refers to in his original post. When I succeed, they will have the choice to continue on that path or not when they raise children of their own.

I cringe at spelling and grammatical errors myself, but I'm not perfect so can't really complain, I struggle with the use of apostrophes - two weeks' work is lost when the computer's drive crashes. It's a shame it's not as good as Jesus' beard. Or a princess's hair. I can see apostrophes disappearing over time.

They're/their/there is a nice one people always stuff up too

There's one which is the absolute worst though.
