The actual service total was $304.79...that's the normal warranty stuff. I got a wheel balance and alignment done as well which is where the extra $$$ comes in ($97).....what does a normal wheel balance and alignment cost???

They've got here wheel alignment $39, rotate and balance wheels $26.76 and rear wheel alignment $32...whats a normal price...or is this on par....I'm thinking not

Turbotom - Jarvis ford in Trinity Gardens - same place I bought the car from.....trying to do the right thing by getting it serviced there....I wont make that mistake again. I'm going 2 make a few calls 2morrow and ask around how much it should be or what other placed would charge for the same kinda service and see how they compare.

its not far from it Aniken. As I've said I'm gunna call Maghan Thiem ford 2morrow as well as Adrian OBrien and a few others around the place and c what the comparitive prices are. I'll then get a more rounded idea of what the price should be....then call Jarvis and see if theyre willing to work something out.....they apparantly get you to answer a questionaire of how well u thought the service was.....shall be interesting to fill out.

l would definitley ring around the other dealers and then take it up with them. The cost of the balance and rotation also sounds high, but in keeping with their excessive service charge l guess

Mate I would be ringing ford direct and ask them with a please explain once you have pricing from other dealers let them know that they have a ford dealer that is ripping of their customers and portraying ford in a bad way

probably....but if theyre going to rip me off...I'll at least voice my opinion that that is what theyre doing and make a decision not to go back there. I'll only be done bad by once..never again.

The thing is though I didnt feel right arguing over it there in the service department as there were a lot of other ppl there...I dont like kicking up a fuss unless ive done my homework so 2morrow I'll get all the figures together and c what eventuates.

I doubt you will have much joy in getting any compensation from Jarvis Ford.

Simply let them know of your dis-satisfaction, and go elsewhere in future.

I've just had a good look at my invoice:

breakdown as follows:

15000 km / 1 yr service $120.00

Oil Filter $ 12.28

Castrol FMX 10x30 oil 6.5l $ 39.00

Environment Waste Disposal $ 9.00

Workshop Consumables $ 11.00

sub-total for 15000km service $191.28

I asked for a wheel alignment as my steering wheel was not exactly on centre,

and I wanted it checked after mounting a curb when I lost it in the wet the week before.

Cost for wheel rotation and Wheel alignment $54.50

I also had some warranty work done.... Front disks machined, exhaust rattle rectified and Gear selector (auto) adjusted to ensure car starts in P..

No charge for any of those jobs.

I supplied my own new QFM pads ($59.00) and the service tech fitted them free of charge.

Of course there was a small fee to keep Peter Costello happy:

GST on total job cost : $24.58

For a total cost of $270.35

I have been very happy with all my dealings with MT at Port Adelaide, so they are worth considering as an alternative.
