A bit early, since I only have 13300 atm, but that will change this weekend :D

Oil and filter change, this time I got the dealer to write down Synthetic oil, 5w40.

Warranty jobs outstanding since I picked up car:

Pulsing in reverse gear (I actually showed them how it goes so they cant say they couldnt replicate it)

Rear pads dragging against the disc (sounds warped)

Warranty work outstanding since 400kms

Brake shudder, probably machine again

Leather driver seat creaking, showed them what I meant

New Jobs

Sunroof doesnt auto close, when it tries to, it kills the 1,2,C buttons for 2 hours till it starts working again.

I took it to a new dealer, as I am dead sick of the crap I got fed at Peter Warren, and the fact that Dale Ford charged me for an oil change and a hand brake adjustment. They put the wrong bloody oil in, and they didnt fix problem with rear pads dragging, reverse pulsing, creaking seat.

At least the repair list is getting smaller, not bigger.

Cro, I know how you feel mate. My phantom went to Thomson Ford 3 times to have repairs and there was nothing fixed at all. It's a bit annoying but the fact is that it's warranty work and they don't really have the inclination to do it properly. The service departments are driven by the almighty dollar and if they can make a bit extra then they will.

You will just have to find the right service people and then you will be right. There are a lot of dealers that don't have the right attitude towards customers and that filters down to the guys on the floor as well. If the advisor doesn't get the right info off the customer or he/she misinterprets it then the tech isn't going to fix the problem.

As the old saying goes: Sh*t in, Sh*t out !

I'll be booking my 15000km service any day now, I have done 14600km.

I used the dealer where I bought the car, New Oakleigh Ford, and they were great so I'll be going back there for the 15000km service. I'll let everyone know how it goes afterwards.

These guys were amazing.

They were really friendly, told me every detail about what they done, and even washed it for me!! (didn't do a good job, but its the service that counts).

I've never had a pleasant time dealing with a service dept.

Anyway, they fixed my sunroof, they have ordered a new seat base for me.

They have sent an email (or Ford sent an email) to the gear box manufacturer cause they have never heard of such a problem with the reverse gear.

My rear pads are still dragging along the disc, so I'll see what they say about that when I call them up.

What really makes me happy, is that for once I got the oil I requested :D

I know in Sydney City Ford are number one for service, but they are a bit too far away from me, so I took it to Cumberland Ford at Blacktown.

a big  to Cumberland.

I don't believe this!!

Cumberland Ford just called me to say my seat base is in, but they don't have a hire car avaliable till friday week. When I asked how much, they said for free!!

I've never bought anything from this place, and they are offering me a free car for the day. Has any one else had this experience with another dealer they didn't buy the car from?

Cro,

Let me know if you find out any info on the pulsing in reverse.

Mine does the same thing in the morning when starting up for the first time and reversing out of the driveway.

Jeff,

They are getting a guy from the Gear box manufacturer (BTR?) to come and have a look for himself.

Just need to setup a time for it.

Neither them or Ford have heard of this problem before.

On a side note, my car is in there today to get the seat base replaced, brake shudder (not the new fix today), serpentine belt looked at, loads of vibrations felt when car is in neutral, more so with heavy driving. Car pulling to right after tyre rotation, and high oil usage again.

For a hire car they gave me the service managers BA Fairmont Ghia.

Don't know if SatNav is standard on it, but it it's pretty cool.

Don't like the colouring of the interior though, reminds me of the cheap plastic EA/EB days...

Sounds weird when I accelerate, I guess on mine the exhaust drowns out the engine. And pretty powerful for a 6, very smooth auto box too, nothing like mine.
