FFS that is crazy. I dont care about being slammed but to police that will be stupid. My other car has been lowered (just kings lows) since around 2002, now am I expected to go and get an engineers certificate? Or is this like the window tint issue where you could just say it was done before X date.

I doubt most police would pick a car 5cm lower unless a stocker and a modded one were side by side.

it may not be a popular opinion , but I do agree for street cars anything less or more than 5cm 2 1/2 inches is starting to change the way the car handles and most people don't adjust all the other bit's needed to compensate .

I think the bit about raising is good I see some crazy looking 4wd's around here that are just dangerous 5inch lift kits etc

at least they haven't banned it full stop ,they just want engineers certs to make sure people know what their doing

It's scary that these are people that are entrusted to running the place.

Typical.

Sure, some people do it wrong, but as usual the polies ignore the fact that a properly lowered car is generally safer through improved handling, etc.

I'd love to see some statistics comparing accidents involving lowered vehicles....

QUOTE

Any vehicle that is raised or lowered after August 1 will have to carry a certificate stating that the modifications confirm to safety standard requirements.

so any car after august 1 will have to have a certificate.. what happens to cars lowered before that?? or its goes for everyone and we will have to pay to get a certificate to confirm with requiremets.. what a joke

Once again people are giving into the fear factor and "what if"... giving up their freedom and failing to use comon sense for the illusion of "safety" and "security"
