  1. That's pretty solid, I hear r888 arent the quickest semis anyway. Next step for me is some new rims and semis or at least upgrading to RSRs. If I go semis I'll be aiming to squeeze into a high 1:10 which should be doable, the suspension is definitely hard enough to really take advantage of the higher grip. I'd love to go for a passenger lap in a fast xr6t, I think it would be a very different experience to a rotor doing the same time. I am part of RENEW ( www.facebook.com/RenewRotary ) and we go to wakefield and EC a couple of times per year where possible. Would be good to see a ford out there with us, we've had plenty of holdens but I dont recall any XRs.
  2. weekends are usually booked out to clubs and the cost varies significantly depending on how many cars they accept, timing, any extras like driver training etc.. Most of the days I've seen are between 200 and 270. What sort of times are you guys doing around there? I've been racing an FC rx7 for a little while and have gotten it down to a 1:13.9 on street rubber. I think to make the XR a good track car I'd have to stiffen the suspension, but that would kill part of what I love about it as a daily. Edit: Wakefield is a great track to try as a first timer, there is good runoff and very few things to hit.
  3. ive got one of the projecta units mentioned above, I might go months without driving my rx7 (mostly track use) so it was a PITA having the battery die. Got a charger that is designed to be left on, has a float mode to keep the battery close enough to full charge without doing any damage. Cost me approx $70, well worth it.
  4. The turbos will get a work out every now and again but for the most part you can't use all of the power too often if you want to hold onto your license. Sure if you buy one with big power, tricked up auto with a stall converter built for racing then yeah its probably had a harder life but otherwise its probably no different to other cars. If anything the turbo will mean its getting flogged less often because it does everything so effortlessly.
  5. I figure this is the best place for it - I've got mine on the market too but priced at 20500 but the phone has been way too quiet, im dropping to 19500 today but cant see myself advertising it any cheaper. Am I wrong to expect no less than 18k for a good low km stock example? These were going for 25-6k 2 - 3 years ago. Theres other cars for sale around that price with a few mods but for a lot of people that can be a negative. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- My ad is: Selling my XR6 Turbo to help with a house deposit. - 2006 BF Mk2 - Octane (orange) - 75xxx km - 6 speed auto - Leather interior and factory upgraded steering wheel - Not an ex fleet or police car. - Never modified, the only change is a replacement oil feed line to increase turbo longevity - Being a BF Mk2 the engine has the upgraded internals the same as the typhoon from the factory. - Well maintained with service history - Never been in an accident - Towbar fitted - Hard to find & great looking colour, I've added more pics but it looks even better in person. - 12 months rego Located at Gosford, NSW on the Central Coast only 1 hour north of the Sydney CBD. A great car that I'm reluctant to let go, if you're looking for a good low km example this is the car for you. Mechanical inspections welcome. Car can be viewed after 7PM weeknights or on weekends. Price: $19500 Price negotiable but no low ball offers thanks. Not interested in any swaps. ------------------------------------ I can put up the carsales link if it makes a difference, but its mostly just for the pics.. Cheers
  6. I've got a bit of an odd issue, on my 2006 bf mk2 T I'll get an intermittent issue where the door locks will cycle at random times. Sometimes I'm driving, other times sitting still, door closed door open doesn't seem to matter. I don't notice any door open light on that dash when this happens or the center light coming on (but ill keep an eye out for it). Some other info: - I dont think its the common worm gear issue since all the doors lock and unlock perfectly every time I lock or unlock the car. When this started happening I got paranoid so yes I have been checking I will listen for any noises in the lock next time I get a chance. - No horn noise or indication the security system is going crazy - I read something about a microswitch possibly failing in the drivers door, might need to investigate that. Any suggestions? It's the sort of issue that doesnt happen every time I drive it so I could see it being tricky for a dealer/auto electrician unless its registering some sort of fault code. Search/google didnt help too much. Thanks.
  7. More power wont help with handling though.
  8. From what I've heard the standard pump works well with the surge tank because its under less load. Lots of guys are running the stock pump plus the PW surge with the 044 pump on it
  9. I wont be able to make it now, take lots of pics and videos guys.
  10. hopefully some of the locals will see the benefit of extra cash in the region and argue for it. It's kinda like making a new race track - lots of people agree its needed but no one wants it in their area.
  11. I'm all for a strong police presence to keep people in line (defect traps outside these venues or wsid is another story though - but that's a rant for another day) coming and going to the venue. That way the community stays safe, we all bring our cash and support local businesses and everyone wins.
  12. if you dont give people the chance to do it off the street of course it will happen on the street
  13. so are you guys heading up to revfest on the weekend? Whos watching & competing?
  14. good stuff. Dont forget to post results. I'll see whats going on closer to the cruise. I just got a series 5 rx7 (which will be mostly a track car) so my falcon isnt getting much love at the moment.
  15. where abouts at the entrance?
