just out of curiosity ... can you measure the size of the centre and rear mufflers, giving height, width and length?

We'll compare with the 2 different sized sets that I've had in the past.

Was there a link or thread to the discussion regarding the different sized mufflers available on the Xforce systems?

I remember seeing it somewhere but couldn't find it again in the search..

Also I swear it had pictures in it and now none of the topics on the Xforce stuff has pictures.

Rear Muffler:

Height 17cm

Width 26cm

Length 40cm

Middle Muffler:

Height 16cm

Width 28cm (this was the hardest to measure so may be marginally off)

Length 34cm

Would you like me to try and upload a sound clip?? For me it's too loud. Is there an exhaust that retains stock noise levels but is free-flowing or does that not exist??

I like the exhaust quiet 'cus I like my induction sound better and when driving through traffic don't want any attention from the exhaust.

Do you think if I bolt back the OEM middle muffler section and keep the rear Xforce muffler section it will supress the noise??

I have heard of guys making 400RWKW on the stock dump. My Cat is already free flowing......

How much power do you think I'd pick up from a dump and cat??

I am limited by my standard BA Conrods and am already making 308RWKW on the stock exhaust with high flow cat.......

My x-force mufflers sizes with no drone:

For comparison I just re-measured them; spare x-force system in my garage that is good up to around 380rwkw (as a guide):

Rear muffler:

Height 16cm

Width 30cm

Length 40cm

Middle Muffler:

Height 16cm

Width 30cm

Length 34cm (and a bit)

So both my mufflers have the same height and width, with just a variation in length.

Fyi, my system sounded sporty yet very good at cruise speed and around town

Yours appear to have less width compared with my previous x-force system, although same length, but it is larger than the first x-force system I tried which droned badly.

The first system that I had that were really bad were just 20 to 22cm in width, so they were well under the required volume to reduce noise sufficiently.

A sporty exhaust will sound louder under higher revs and full load, and will sound loader outside the car than inside.

What you don’t want is drone under 2500 revs, at freeway speeds, or excessive noise at idle, as heard inside the car. That is a personal preference, and what I want and have. Quality mufflers can have better internal material packing for better sound reduction, plus design to reduce back pressure as much as possible.

Given your data, it would seem to me that it is the rear muffler that should be larger, not the mid section.

Hi guys,

Looking to change my cat in a few weeks to get my T tuned properly. To fit a stock zorst system, what are the sizes for the inlets?

Came across this and was wondering, would this fit my stocker on the BA?

or am I better off going for one of these?

Also, im lookin to push 260 - 280 at the wheels, would a 200cpsi do the trick or would I need a 100cpsi?

200cpsi will be fine, however I think the ones you have there are too small in the body to be a substantial improvement over the stock cat. Get something with a 4-5" body and you won't have any issues when you wanna push for more power in the future.

when people refer to a 4 or 5 inch cat is that the acual inlet/outlet diameter? as that's huge

im pretty sure that the 4-5 inch is in reference to the width of the body? not the inlet/outlet pipes
