Will be taking the T into a tuner in a few weeks ive decided and Im after opinions whether or not it can really be worth paying the nearly $900 for a custom tune from Elite Austomotive or to go with the cheaper Hi-Torque for $450.. Im aware of Elite's great rep and have heard pretty good things about hitorque as well, and dont get me wrong - I dont mind one bit paying a bit more for a better quality product, but double? Is it really worth my while couching up that much extra?

...And my next question is, ill have $1000 to spend on top of the flash box and tune - what parts would I go for? Injecters and CAI? The only mod I have so far is centre muff removed.

id go for, fuel pump, injectors and high flow muffler. will see a high 200 or possibly 300

It's a bit like the homebrand food and the well the known brands. You can taste the difference.

I am sure if you speak to them, you might find that they will do a deal.

If you are getting flash tuner and injectors I am sure they will help you out.

What we have seen with tuners is you generally pay for what you get.

and I do agree with ZAP, you do get what you pay for!!

and for you $1000 on top that you can spend, I would throw some valve springs in to start with! them save up for some injectors and a fuel pump!

valve springs and a custom tune should net you around the 250rwkw mark depending on your car!

if I was in your shoes, I would be driving out to the 2 tuners and having a chat with each of them. then be making your decision on which tuner is for you!

Dont just base your decision on what you read on the net. Like The Bogan said, go out and see who's tuning your car. See what they've invested into themselves to be qualified to play with your investment.

In saying that, I think you will find that Elite are second to none in that category.

I just dont think ill get twice my moneys worth at Elite.

not trying to rag on kent and the boys, as I know a few of the boys from hi torque and they are genuinely nice blokes!!!

even though im part of the " opposition" so to speak whenever I see the boys I go out of my road to have a chat with them about how they are going and how we at Elite are going.

but... are they an XR6 Turbo specialist??? how many genuine 300+rwkw cars have they tuned? I know for sure that we have at least 50+ 300rwkw cars under our belt, with not 1 engine failure. and have tuned at least another 100+ xr6 turbos and xr8's.

just something else to think about.....

just go and talk to them both and make up your own mind. Hi torque built thisso. My mate is getting work done to his GTS monaro in there are the moment. (CAI, cams injectors maf less tune exhust and getting it changed to an auto. They also built another mates twin turbo vy ss so I can vouch for them.
