  1. no I dont have a comparison graph handy. Yes, I am trying to have a crack at daves unopened record. May have to wait until next year. Its bloody hard to find the time to get to the drags when the 2 days are week that the drags are on the mrs is working. here's a video clip of my 2 10.5 second passes. the 10.58 was the first pass of the day and the 10.55 was my 3rd pass
  2. hahahahahaha I found that the precision turbo did not suit my needs as I found I compromised low end power for top end. A very good turbo, I just did not find it suitable. I am now running a gtx3582. Minimum boost is 19-20psi and with it wheelspinning on the dyno it is only showing 407rwkw. It is daily driven with around 370-380rwkw. I have run a best of 10.55@132mph in the middle of the day at the HSV nationals at willowbank back in july, which would indicate that it is making more than 407rwkw. Im pretty sure its the fastest 4 speed in qld and also the fastest unopened in qld also. I think I have missed my window for a crack at a 9 this year, but I might take it out for 1 last shot soon!

  4. lol, I have to change my sig, havent noticed that before. I wouldnt have the faintest idea... what ever a 12 psi launch will let me do and if the cv's dont give up. hopefully a low 1.5 or high 1.4
  5. 20psi for the race tune. 18psi minimum boost for the street. There is still slot more left in the launch!! I would not recommend running this amount of boost and power for an everyday driver... Im taking a big punt on my bottom end and transmission... everytime I put my foot down im half expecting something to go bang.
  6. I have run a 10.55@132 with my ba mk1 bottom end with only valve springs done. I was chatting to dave last year around april and he said it was making around 440-450rwkw. He also said he made a small adjustment to the tune at the track the night it ran 9.9 Im hoping to have a good crack at his record very soon!!
  7. no gains.... when I was replacing my nizpro valve springs with atomic springs I found that there was a chip out of my hard casing on my exhaust camshaft. I had a set of standard fg camshafts here so I threw those in. I wouldnt recommend fitting them as a performance upgrade.

  9. watching my boost gauge on the launch the needle didnt move. I have to be sitting a little bit longer than what I did for it to generate boost. I am hoping to take it back out within the next week at night time to see what it will do in the cooler weather and a 12psi launch. all 4 launches were never above 3000rpm, to achieve a 10 - 12 psi launch I have to let it sit for about another second with rpm around the 3300-3500rpm mark. anymore boost than 12 psi I smash cv's...
  10. I dont know what slicks they are... I bolt them on and I can launch it as hard as I want... And its a bit of an experience actually steering it while its going down the track as well!! all 4 launches were with no boost off the line, I really didnt want to break anything being the only ford at a Expensive Daewoo day!! If I can manage a 10 - 12 psi launch on a cold night then I should go close to a 9.9. Remembering these runs were done in the middle of the day when humidity and all that mumbo jumbo are working against the car. I was also driving into a pretty mad headwind also.

  12. the turbo is a gtx3582 and I run it on a pump/tolulene mix for the drags. no surge tank either, just a walbro intank and over 3/4's of a tank of fuel!!
  13. I had the opportunity to attend the hsv nationals drag day on Sunday at Willowbank!! I showed them how it was done!! Ran a best of 10.55@132mph.. Fastest car out there!! There is still more in the launch as I just wanted to get a few clean passes in. New unopened record for qld I think!! Sorry dave!! I shouldnt be too far off your outright record on a cool night!! There is still more in the launch as I could have gone harder. I just didnt want to break it being the only ford at an ALL Expensive Daewoo day!!! Still Standard BA Mk1 pistons and rods, factory turbo manifold, GTX3582 and 2.5 year 4 speed auto The first video is of my first pass running a 10.58 and the second is my 10.55 I apologise if this is a repost, I think the one I posted earlier has disappeared

Our FG F6 ran 362.1 rwkw as a display vehicle. 8 cyl NA winner was Dan E3 GTS with 341.2 rwkw Runner up was Jason Ls2 Ve ss 309 rwkw Our E3 GTS ran a 330 rwkw as a display vehicle. 8 cyl forced induction winner was Jeff in the DJR(BA XR8) with 360 rwkw runner up was Ben in the BAxr8 (BLWNBA) 311.3rwkw This was a smaller day compared to other dyno days we have had in the past. But smaller days are more intimate and it makes my job strapping the cars down alot easier!!! There were a couple of big hitters that could not make it to the day. With John tearing his gearbox a new 1 on friday night and poor Matt with his BF F6 having boost drama's and making around 370rwkw. Thanks to those that attended to wither watch or enter. Sorry I couldnt stop and have a chinwag but strapping down cars doesnt leave me with alot of time!!! I will keep you all posted when we decide to have our next one!!

  21. I went with the precision turbo because it is a little bit bigger than the garrett gtx 35 I was originally thinking about putting on. The noise this thing makes when it is spooling is out of this world!!! Almost sounds like a jet taking off. The few restricted squirts I have given it have been eye opening. This turbo has no lag compared to my standard turbo and seat of the pants feel is a hell of a lot stronger over standard. Im hoping this huffer will get me to 450rwkw+ on my race tune and who know's what it will run at the drags.... Maybe a new std bottom end record!!!
