I will be putting 968s in soon so the dealer will have to know NOT to connect my car to their computer so they dont f*ck up my tune. Just tell them not to reflash it, it makes no difference to you and you dont use the factory tune anyway.

Ford dealer said that has just come out this week. Its called the PRGC309 - recall. Lucky I only had generic tunes but still not looking forward to having to send my edit back to CAPA. Driving around stock as rock sucks.

Put your tune back in!Getting ford to reflash the car (ie a recall) will have no effect on you because you are using the edit tunes... what's stopping you?
slippunchdump Member 116 Member For: 20y 4m 30d Gender: Male Posted 14/11/06 05:48 AM Author Posted 14/11/06 05:48 AM The problem is if I put my tune back in and I want to go back to ford, when I flash it back to standard it wont have the update.

Get used to being stock.Or modify it, enjoy your car more, and if something breaks due to the edit being installed, cough up. Most honest people do this.

You dont need the update, you have an edit... I think a lot of people might have a misunderstanding about this. When you get an edit it overwrites your PCM tunes no matter what they are from the factory. The PCM still operates in exactly the same manner. When they do an "update" at the dealer they just load in another tune which has slightly different fuel and ignition values, trying to correct a problem like overboost or poor idle. When you edit, all of these problems disappear, and sometimes you even end up with new problems! Like "now I need injectors, cat, dump, cooler, oil cooler, clutch, gearbox upgrade, valve springs, custom tune............."Just flash your PCM, you won't have a problem.
