No Red Line

Shows how observant I am...

Just noticed this morning, there is no redline on the tacho... :msm:

So at what revs are you redlining the thing?

Not that I want to try just wondering and surprised I havent noticed before... :msm:

Around 5,800 rpm but it seems to vary.

The ECU I think will vary the redline depending on gear, load and other factors.

It is a complaint that all the car mags have about the XR/FPV falcons.

In my 5 speed BA Im 99% sure it was set differently in 1st/2nd/3rd, Don't think I ever came near redline in the other gears.

Now I just change at 5500.

They cut spark anyway so its not an issue.

Im pretty sure 6200 is the actual cut, but if there are some abnormal conditions detected by the engine management it will drop that limit and it can be a significant drop.

these things dont need to be redlined anyway.

5500 is more than enough to get moving.

I think if under a 1/4 of tank in fuel it will red line earlier from my stupid experience :) I make sure it never goes under that mark now lol
