These guys score business because they've got the marketing side sorted.

I too found myself in the same boat, I noticed their ad in Motor magazine before I even had my T and started to wonder what their powerchip could do for me.

Looking at the figures and an image of a very professional company who have data to back their claims had been formed in the brain.

Thank god I found this website and you hope all others find this place before taking the plunge. Thankfully it was an issue of me not having enough $$$ at the time to go ahead, I might have been another. Now I'm planning to get the edit & custom tune with Nizpro.

This is only the 2nd time Ive read about a person's experirence with Powerchip - 2 bad experiences so far.

Perhaps theyre nothing more than rebadged Brock Polarizers?

This is sad and its a bad thing to see, I had a someone come to me here with a BAXR6 N/A that  had all the bolt ons, he had sent his pcm over to powerchip and they had fitted this power chip stuff to his car saying that the edit was a fraud, anyways, he got me to dyno it for him and it had dropped power from before it was fitted, he rang them and they asked for his pcm back and they refunded him his money, I fitted edit and he now has an Auto N/A XR6 making 180 rwkw's.  Not to bad.

You arent satisified so get the refund. If not, just mention you will be going to the Dept Fair Trading.

The whole point in paying Professionals to do things is that you get a professional and satisfactory job done..

Sorry to hear about the bad experience!

You will find this forum very biased (with good cause IMO) toward the Capa Ford Flasher (otherwise known as Edit) product. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best value approach to modifying an XR6T when coupled with a custom tune from someone who knows what they are doing. The results that are being acheived are simply fantastic.

Lucky for you - you live in Melbourne and are therefore close to two of the best tuning houses going around for the XR6T in Nizpro and HPF.

You can opt for an edit only (I would ALWAYS get a custom tune) rather than the full stage 1 dependant on what you want to acheive and what your budget is. Nizpro will charge a little more, but can offer a warranty, which given you current experience may be worth it for piece of mind. They also do absolutely fantastic tunes that provide good safe power whilst maintaining excellent drivability.

Speak with these tuners about what you want to acheive and also about your current issues. It may be better to go your chosen tuner rather than Ford (if you have not done so already) to fix this - but speak to them about the implications.

Good luck with resolving your current problems - hopefully this can be sorted without too much additional cost and leave you with a big smile!
