I've had my BS Series II for three days and my first tank used 13lt/100km

60% city driving and 40% country. Am following the running in recommendations but cant resist the odd squirt.

wow that's heaps. I looked up on www.redbook.com.au and it says city driving we get 15L/100k.

whats up with the different numbers

another thing I dont understand is that x L per 100k reading. when I press and hold the trip button, it beeps the numbers start changing, however when I change the trip reading to something else (av spd for example) and then change back to the L per 100k reading, it just sits on the one number

Sitting on your arse in city traffic burns fuel without and distance travel so the average gets high, the instant consuption reads about 2.5lts/hour when stopped. Plus I drive it hard. I would be very supprised if most forum members get the factory quoted figures.

Don't know, you could give them a call and find out... But if your parents, brothers \ sisters \ grandparents have AAMI insurance you'd be able to go for free (and take your T)

PS I don't actually work for AAMI, I went on the course myself and found it really good...

Whilst Canberra is a little different to other city’s I usually get around 400 to 450km out of a tank (it's been going down a little as my right foot is getting heavier \ changed fuels to Vortex 98…)

Highway driving I can get as low as 9lt/100km… City driving I’m normally doing between 13 and 14lt /100km… Which is roughly what the little sticker said I’d be doing when the car was at the dealers…

On a stock auto T I've got a one year average of 13.5L/100km (measured - trip computer shows about half a litre more). Mostly city driving with the occasional longer run to south coast or Victoria (not Hume Hwy miles though).

Around town, I get about 380-400kms from a tank (not taking it easy, but not gunning it either), but I can only squeeze 60L into the tank at that point (in a supposedly 68L tank).

If I run the trip computer for a while past 0kms DTE then I can maybe squeeze in 62L. That still leaves a few litres of fuel unutilised and means fueling up every 6 days rather than 7.
