1600mah is a little low to maintain a 650odd cca battery. Now that you mention repco I'm sure they have ctek's on sale at the moment.

Fathers day gift Lennox?

I used to drive my car to the international airport, fly to Africa, come back sometimes 6 - 8 weeks later, get in my car and drive home.

If your battery was getting a bit old or you have something drawing voltage, you might want to think about a charger, but a week without driving is nothing.

1.6 amps will be sweet, as soon as the battery is near full capacity , it will pull very little current to maintain it. I have these on my cars and the 950mA ones on all my bikes..
