gtp, I guess the main question I wanna know is, if I was to replace JUST the CAT itsself with a high flow cat from STOCK dump to STOCK exhaust.. what would be the top 3 contenders?

#1 = SMB

#2 = ??

#3 = ??

I noticed a few other cats available on SMB site, their 3' hi flo's, would they be a good bold in replacement that would give a decent CFM increase?

1= SMB 4 inch , Its by far the best ive seen and flow tested.

2= APS Cat.

3= Defilipo Gen III large body cat.

Cant go past the SMB

Have you flow tested the aps cat at all?

It has a 3.5 inch opening but a 5 inch interior.

Personal testing I have conducted show no power gain without the aps cat at 350rwkw

The actual SMB 4" cat is cheap, but what would the cost be to fit this to a standard system as it's not just a bolt in replacement?

Would it be better off price wise purchasing a complete system in the end?

Brett.

Since we dont have testing on emissions (yet) in NZ - how much louder are our cars if teh cat is removed altogether?

Any other issues with no cat (assuming you have an edit)?

That's a good question, I was wondering the same myself. Especially so if you decide to buy the matching 4" SMB dump pipe too!

By the time you've done the centre muffler replacement too, you'll have spent in the order of $1500!!

By the sound of GTP-330 hasn't taken out the centre muffler and is running 340rwkw's so just leave the buggar in there!

I get them fitted for 200.00 to the original system.
