You are more than welcome as a spectator or racer.The format for the day is bracket racing which is like handicap racing, you nominate a time that you think you will run the 1/4 mile say 14.00 sec and as long as you don't go faster than your nominated time all day then you are in with a show.If just for example you are drawn against me. you nominate 14.00 and I nominate 11.9 then you will get a 2.1 second head start on me. Now if both of us run our dial in times we should dead heat. If either of us runs faster than the dial in time then that person is disqualified for breaking the bracket and the other person goes through to the next round.We set the day up like this to allow all utes no matter what time they run the chance to compete and try out drag racing.See you up there, you won't miss me I am in the Phantom purple ute with the PM Security graphics all over it.Cheers,Dean.

Watching the slower car get the green light and then having to wait what seems like a minute before you get the green knowing that you have to reel them in before the line and then pegging them back gives you a sense of how quick you really are. And in the slower car watching your rear view mirror fill up while trying to get to the line first is also a buzz.If everyone is realistic about their dial in times it is usually a close thing.

I haven't run my ute since having the aps phase 3 fitted, so I will use the practice session to work out my dial in time.

The event was well organised with the only downer being the weather. 32 degrees! while it was nice and cold in Melbourne.The heat killed everyones times and the turbos suffered pretty bad with heat soak.I was very happy with my time in my APS Phase III ute, I went out today hoping for an 11 second run but that went out the window with the high temps. I still managed to run a 12.16 @ 119 mph so the ute will pull an easy 11 on a cooler night at Calder and should run mid 120 mph times.I ran the ute with drag radial dot approved treaded tyres and left my tailgate and roller shutter lid on for the runs.Geea was adopted as a ute for the day because as per normal he couldn't stand being at a drag strip and not having a go. I will let him tell you about his runs but the heat was an obvious factor there. (Ran on his 19's for most of the day )Great to see Adam also give the stock T a good go in the heat well done.A special big thankyou to Peter and the gang from APS for giving me such a strong street ute and for the lend of the drag radial tyres for the day. It left most of the other genuine street utes in it's wake. Here come the 11's

When I asked Mark about it he said it was getting TT's? not long now .... and it won't be what people are expecting early morning reports proved correct ... the track was too be slippery (hot and humid)... I piked out and went off on a firewood hunt with the F250 instead .... could only imagine the ET with 1500kg of firewood and a dog in the back
