  1. Is there any chance that it could be a dodgy cat?
  2. cracker night is to celebrate the NTs self Governance (Read: Howard takes control of 47% of Territory LOL!) One of my fvourite names for the cracker is Bin Laden, its just got bin Ladens head on a stick and it goes BOOM! Also ALWAYS get the rockets, they are the best, lots better than the value packs. rockets can also be aimed at stuff if your that way inclined lol. And they sound really good when in confined spaces...such as storm drains lol. just what I have been told though..
  3. "(which will give this 385kw hsv a run for its money even with stock 270kw)" RIP'S PATCHES: You have gotta be dreaming. A 385KW V8 with a brand new chassis (read puts power to ground better) would eat the typhoons 270KW turbo (stock) All day long.
  4. Yeah dont you just love that banging sound it makes? Ive had the same problem. Fortunately I have a great dealer, and they fixed my 03 BA just a month or so ago for me, free of sharge (I bought it from them 9 months ago). Apparently there is a few hours labour involved. I would definately try another dealer. Maybe sweet talk a sales person and show interest in the latest and greatest model (BFII XR8 lol!!)
  5. Shotgun the Nokia hands free kit! Lol
  6. Yes I do still live in the centre, so 40 - 45 degree summers can make a big dif with power! and as for: "And for anyones information a Stock Turbo will hose a stock XR8, all day, every day. " Even though this an xr6T site, I still find it hard to believe you can honestly say this. I very muhch doubt a stock turbo would "hose" an xr8. It would be very close, but I would put the money on the 8, especially if your saying "all day" becasue im sure the 6 would not cope with a hot engine as well as the 8. Just my 2 cents. Cheers, Joel
  7. I test drove stock xr6t v stock xr8. I was very underwhelmed in the stock 6. The stock 8 on the other hand I new with in a minute it was the cr for me. Each to there own, and sure the Turbo 6 is undoubtedly cheaper/easier to mod (hell why not get a skyeline then... lol) But if your willing to do a bit of work/money the 8 is a gem. I also think there is a lot of great new gear coming out fore BOSS. Very stealth superchargers etc. You could create a real weapon with a supercharger if your keen on hitting the track, plus its unique. And yeah they sound great. The best thing with the 8 is to do the full exhaust, he exhaust really freed/toughened it up. Im looking at getting CAI, under drives, and edit ASAP. Maybe down the track supercharge! Your call, but theyre all fun!
  8. An exhaust system on the 8 will amost be enough to make your out of the box tune null and void. And the "few other mods" hes got (if they include an edit...) sorry bud I think he will have you by a car length or two.
  9. yes all Ford 6s are like that. if its not turbo lag its just a lack of power in the NA 6.
  10. "stops in prescribed distance" MMM My rear right brake house just turned to crap, brake fluid totally pouring out, eating up the rim lol. had to use sequential shift and stamp on the brakes like no tommorow, SCARY!. had to get it towed. Mind you Im lucky, My Ford dealership is excellent and sorted it all out very quickly. Just glad no brake fluid got on the paint, otherwise id have a silver undercoat car!
  11. silhouette! A clean black car...nothing harder to achieve, but nothing more rewarding!! Id do it again!
  12. sounds great! Put up a full handling review once youve tested it out (If you can get out of the car)
  13. My best was 2 in 2 weeks. I started going home a different way and all fine since. stupid roadworks! tyres cost about 30 to fix eachh I think, so no great loss
  14. Not good. Competition is vital, means we get better cars. It would be a huge loss to all of us if one of the big american manufacturers were to go down.
  15. 1) The soldier to die in Iraq may or may not have shot himself, There has been soo much confusion we will probably never know. Scene of "accident" tampered, body goin to wrong place etc etc. Call me a conspiracist, but an accident/suicide looks better than a soldier being killed by enemies in an unpopular war. 2) Unemployment figures: China is the true driving force. Hence why mining has exploded. Also as far as foreigh worker visas? Well there are plenty of cases being investigated where australians have been losing out. Also if we as a democracy believe our workers rights and conditions (or lack there of) are what are acceptable to us, why should we take advantage of bringing people from overseas cheap! 3) "we needed to go to war so the US would protect us" YOUR JOKING. This agreement already exists. And it works in reverse, we too would go to US of A defence if they were under attact. But the western world sure as hell wasnt getting attacked. As for NZ? They didnt go to war, but if come under threat you can bet Australia and USA are obliged to defend them. 4) Just a question...Are people entitled to penalty rates when working on public HOLIDAYS and sundays? Well thanks to "work choices", no more. And yeah keep the tax breaks, Id rather see it spent on something important like OUR environment. The thing that we cant live with out. Invest and build renewable. Australia has Plenty of safe renewable options, including this BASE LOAD. Its just the matter of infrastructure.
  16. Mmm they chose the 8Cyl variant... Must of wanted a car that could handle that notorious track!
  17. Mate, that's a nice ride. What sort of power you running? And a random one: What happens if you need to get crash repair with the paint? is it hard/expensive to fix? Joel
  18. what about something japanese?
  19. I can say this much: Im guessing its a SONY cybershot. Just tryin to see if I can be a smart ass
  20. Id love to come, its just that I live in Alice !
  21. Tab summed it up perfectly "LOL" Correct me if I'm wrong, but honestyly how does and edited T compete against an M5? (The car I assume you mean not the trans) Yeah the 8s do go hard though! The Extractors will definately help, if you can though get the full system, high flow cats etc. Really helps it breath, goes smoother and harder. Sounds TOUGH. Fuel economy though? I havent got CAI or tuned yet, but so far the improvement is micro.
  22. No get them fixed "The extra power you are running has obviously effected the electrics, Im sorry but its out of warranty"
  23. A lot of those dogs are great for guard dogs etc, but seriously would you want a terrier or shepard around kids? I personally would not trust them. Im onto my second english cocker spaniel. they live for about 15yrs, are sturdy and a good size. they are very very easy to train because : A)They are so people focused, and desperate to please. B)They also have a soft spot for their gut. Require little maintanece accept a wash and brush (just sheer the fur off if your not into brushing) My dog just today scared off a group of kids throwing rocks. My dogs brother (owned by my family) also scared off some intruders from their house in the middle of the night a few months ago. They sound tougher than they look. The best bit is they are the cutest looking puppies, and a very handsom when grown up. My dog will sit, drop, stay, roll over, shake, Run around bark (by saying "whats that!"), move his own bed to whereve we are at the time (TV, family room etc) Actually he pretty much just understands and does anything you tell him to. Also he will only ever bark or growl when there is actualy smething there. Get pure bred, from good pedigree, worth the outlay over a backyard job lol.
  24. NT: FULL licence at 17, no plates nothing. Cant beat that
