  1. Hi everyone, My XR6T will be due for its 60,000klm service soon, and up until I have been getting the servicing done at Bayford's Epping. What I am trying to find is reputable tuner/service guy that I can take my car to for its next service and get both done. Trouble is I don't know of any in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne...? Also, its under a novated lease...
  2. I used to average 14.2 (mixed suburb/freeway) until my last 45,000klm service, where now I average 15.2. What the??? I haven't taken it back yet to Ford, but I suspect something has been changed...and not for the better..!
  3. My July build 07 BF MKII bought brand new has 50,000..and is up for sale.. Family requires a wagon... but I'm lookin at the SS-V Sportwagon..!!
  4. Hmmm...maybe you're right. I'll have another flick through tonight as bedtime reading material!!
  5. Is that still teh case with manual mode though? I would have thought the points system went out the window once you select a gear manually?
  6. Hi guys, I've read in the manual (yeah Im a geeky farker) that the ZF box when in manual mode goes into 1st gear automatically when you come to a stop...ie, at a set of lights! Well...mine doesn't. It stays in 2nd gear....which aint pretty when you then try and take off on the green light! What up with that?
  7. Hi all, My car's around 3 weeks old now, an XR6T, and after a recent visit to the service department, its all of a sudden developed a brake squeek when braking. It was never there before...but now it is. Perhaps coincidence? Also, a knocking rattinling noise can be heard when I go over little bumps in the road that sounds something like knocking on a big piece of hollow wood. I duno if that's the best way to describe it... Again..this seems to only have started since I got it back fom the service centre. I thought it might have been loose or rattly brake calipers..but even if I lightly press on the pedal while going over bumps in the road the noise is still there. My front tyre pressures are at 40psi, so I dont know if that is the cause of this noise... Any thoughts? Im pretty sure this noise wasn't there before the service...which if you read one of my other posts was an absolute disaster. They scratched my front bumper while bring in the car around to me from the workshop which they then offered to respray for me...so I assume they would have had to remove and refit the bumper bar...but I tried moving the bar up and down and it seems fairly solid...???
  8. Yeah..I was going to say that..but didnt want to be rude. THanks for the suggestion though. Anyone had experience with City ford or Jefferson ford service centres?
  9. Well I got it back today...after they re-sprayed the front bumper... ...and as Im standing in the front of it doing the final inspection before agreeing to accept it...I notice that the spot lights in the bumper look different to each other...they had put the drivers side one upside down...so the filament was pointing upwards!!! Friggin knob heads!!!! SO I decided to fix it myslf...easy job. Removed the undercover drip tray thingy...got my hands in there..removed and rotated it 180deg and put it back in. But the point is that I SHOULDNT have had to do it! I seriously gotta find a decent place to take it for the next service...
  10. Damn...with all these figures..I'd say I have a problem... I thought I smelt raw fuel on the way in this morning...but I asked them to check for leaks, and they said it was all good..
  11. True... I just thought that I should be getting atleast 400 k's from a tank in my T' This theory of the XR's running rich in the early stages of runnin...is it true? If so, does it sort itself out automatically, or does the 3000k service include changing the tune...? At times on my way into work I could swear I see the fuel guage needle working it s way down as it drops!
  12. Hi all, Just dropped my car off to get the front spoiler re-sprayed after it was scraped by the guy at the service centre I mentioned in an earlier post. They gave me a BF wagon to drive around in till its fixed. I drove it in to work this morning (the wagon that is) in my usual heavy footed way...and couldn't get the fuel economy to budge over 12.4 L/100Klm... Now I know the wagon's not a turbo...but even when I drive my T around like an old m*1e it still sits around the mid to high 14 L/100k mark. Is that normal? Im averaging around 380 to 400 litres per tank...pretty ordinary I reckon!!! My SV8 did slightly better than that...!
  13. I wasn't sure if I could....or should.... They claim to have alot of 'patience'.....
  14. I had my T in for its first service yesterday (3000k). I asked for them to change the oil and filter. I think they only changed the oil...not the filter...Im going to have to double check the invoice... But listen to this...! As the guy was driving it into the pick-up area, he drove up the driveway at such a rate, that he scraped the front bar into the ground!!! I was inside checking out the lower mesh grill which they were selling for $130 bucks...and all of a sudden I hear this awful SCRAPE!!! I turn around and see my car being driven in... Naturally I freaked!! At first he played dumb...but eventually admitted to it, and they're now going to re-spray my bumper. Which means I have to leave my car with them for another 2-3 days (luckily they're giving me another car in the meantime...but what a PAIN!!). Not only that...the front left guard had all smudge grease marks all over it. The back doors have got all this guey glue stuff over them because they had to re-do the tint on the little triangle window on the rear passenger doors....the car was immaculate when I gave it to them I was not impressed let me tell you... Is there a GOOD Ford service centre anywhere around Melbourne? One that cares about customer service...quality workmanship...?
