I was running an LC6, which is a line converter but have just switched to a head unit. IMO the difference is night and day, not all of it has to do with sound quality though. Yes the sound quality is better mainly in my case, I have better and more bass. The main difference is the options a head unit gives you in the form of tuning.. The ICC unit has just the basics but with my alpine head unit, its awsome I can fiddle with all sorts of things and tweak it however I see fit. Also I can now play mp3's and connect my ipod which now lives in my glove box and I control it through the headunit. Its not a pain running everything through a line converter, but get a good one. I tried a cheap $50 alpine one which was poo. Read good reviews on the forum about the LC6 so I got one of them. I paid $240 which did a good job. There are better ones of course, for example Alpine have one for around $800, and after speaking to the guy about it its ment to be the best out.. I too wanted to keep the standard look of my interior, but the way my head unit is installed, it doesnt look out of place IMO. I dunno about the sound deadening but I wanna be doing some aswell, so I look foward to reading someone who knows' answer.. HEHEH must have missed ya. People have commented that my rims when spinning look shiny hehe Saw a few of the usuals last night.. Some how ended up in what looked like to be a 'bring ya sh*t Late model camira cruise' Nothing newer than a VT SS, and all of them loved to put there cars in neutral being auto or manual I dunno, and revving the crap outta them while driving Anyways it was easy pickings, and left me sorta sorry for them Alot of police presence too but was a good nite..

I too can vouch for the LC6i... Just sold mine a few days ago to a guy on here.. Mine went for $150 (used). Only sold it cause my stacker crapped itself and bought a head unit. The LC6 is good, but its not as good as a head unit, but better than the cheap Alpine one I had, then gave away...

Need more info on the car mate... BA, BF, MK1 or 2 all are different as to what path to take..

I reckon if ya welded 4 monza's together it'll do the job.... Seriously though the best cooler from each of the top 3-4 (plaz,niz,pw maybe even rapid) should do the job..

Yeah the guy at vic roads got one of those wheelie sticks out.. On the night I got done, I started to get out of the car and he said that he needed us to stay in the car for the test. Later on I found out that your car needs 100mm of ground clearence, with people in it, as others have mentioned in the thread.. But then when gettin tested at vic roads, no one in the car, I was outside the car watching the inspector test it, so yer pretty stoopid law. But good for us I guess..

I got defected a while ago. I had 4 people in the car and was deemed low by the officer and his wheelie stick.. Went to vic roads to get it cleared with no one in the car and it passed.. I've got SL front and SSL rear.. My 2c..

Come to think of it... I remember a mate was gettin a quote off JB to fit a deck to his VY SS and they were gonna throw in the thing needed to retain the steering wheel controls for his car... Cant be too expensive if they were just gonna give it to him ey?

I understand what your saying, these cars are pretty much N/A untill you give it not much more than 2000rpm, you could go all day without hitting anywhere near max boost....But when you do punch it I imagine all those extra killowats wont have that much affect on acctual acceleration... Was looking at the tyres just before, and noticed they're gonna need replacing soon, and seeing as I know fark all about tyres, I've decided to let the brains trust have there say.. Currently have on some cheapo chinese brand 245/35/19's, would like to get the same size, and something good in the wet too.. Wanting to spend between $200-$300 a corner or there abouts.. Did a bit of a search but the threads were sorta old, so a fresh opinion and prices would be good. Also if some Melbourne boys know where I can get these tyres from that will also be good.. Also could I have the full name too... Rang up a few places already, got some quotes.. Maxxis- $239 a corner (on special) Falkin-$350 a corner Sumitomos-$310 a corner So what say u.. Mike..
