  1. there are quite a few around and under 60k if you scroll through the whole list. Big AL
  2. I'd say you do extremely well on both counts. Big AL
  3. Hi All I'm a possible starter for tommorrow if I can get out of bed early enough lol. Big AL
  4. I know that area well having been born & bred in Mur-bah. It's not difficult to get yourself into trouble if you're not paying attention or as stated an animal jumps out at you. What a shame for a beautiful car to end up like that, poor Barry never deserved to end up that way. Big AL
  5. I have bought a set of standard BA 18" to use as track wheels and they fit over the four pot Brembos on the BF F6. Big AL
  6. I asked this and many other questions just like it of the Qld FPV manager and whilst he simpathised he said it's just too difficult to make changes and FPV won't bastardise any of their models for anyone. I told him what I thought of that silly idea. I can understand their point of view but as Walkinshaw has realised if they don't do the after market will and they'll lose out on profits. Pretty narrow minded thinking if you ask me. Big AL
  7. Sorry mate but it's just one of those things that come up every now and then, I don't get to choose a date when it's filling in the gaps like this. No not at all, as long as it's not too noisey it will be fine. The secret is to run at least 45psi in your tyres to minimise tyre wear, but yes it can be a little tough on tyres. Murphys *bleepin* law, The last few times I've been there with these guys they've had an instructor available if you chose to use him, some did some didn't. I've always found it helpful as they can often give you the missing piece of advice to improve your driving style. I will get a contact number if you like and we can organise our own day. Big AL
  8. Hi All A fantastic opportunity has arisen. Due to another club cancelling their booking at a skid pan day this coming Saturday a few spots are now available at a reduced rate. Normally $135 now only $95 in an effort to fill the spots. This will be a first come first served basis, so don't think about it too long or you'll miss out. Having attended quite a few of these days over the years I can highly recommend them to anyone interested in testing the limits of both you and your car. Be warned though your car will get very dirty as it's run on a wet track. Even if you've never done anything like this before, trust me you will have a great time. This is a morning session from 8.30am 'til 12.30pm. For more info and to reserve your spot give Kevin from Ultratint a call on 0412934526 or me on 0412768105. Good luck and maybe I'll see you there. Big AL
  9. I hope you realise that this film is still illegal and likely to get you defected again. Any film with more than 10% reflectivity is illegal (mirror tint is around 80% reflectivity). Having 5% is just asking for trouble, it's only a matter of time before something goes horribly wrong. There are guys here on the coast that will do 5% on the sides and 35% on the front screen, that's just plain crazy and will one day probably kill someone. I had an incedent many years ago where I nearly took out a kid late at night on his BMX without lights at an intersection because I couldn't see out of the tint clearly. Good Luck Big AL
  10. Just as a side note for anyone who thinks that these cars are too thirsty, I covered 440km today with an average consumption of 11.1lt/100km. I arrived home with a little over a quarter of a tank of fuel left. Admittedly 200 of those km were spent on the highway but the remaining were a mix of spirited driving and a lot of 2nd and 3rd gear twisty bits. All in all a pretty fine effort for a car of this size and power. I'm impressed. Cheers Big AL
  11. Yes indeed 'twas a great day out congrats and many thanx to Shazz and Tabitha for providing the route of mostly unchartered roads (pity about the dust though). Looking forward to the next outing. Big AL
  12. Would be great to see you back Dazza. Big AL
  13. Hi Chris, If you want the darkest looking film but still want it to be legal and not interfere with your radio reception, then I'd recommend you seek out a film called AT EMINM 35. This is a non metal film with a 33% vlt (visible light tranmission) when fitted to the green coloured glass in our Fords. It has the highest heat rejection of any non metal film at 60% yet still looks darker than most other legal films. It's distributed in Australia by MEP Films and should set you back about $250-300. One of my work colleages has the 3M CS20 (lower the number the darker the film) on his Typhoon and mine doesn't look that much lighter except it's legal. It comes in at 33% with a light meter because the factory Ford glass is a little darker than most other cars, but if you ever get questioned it's totally legal because it's sold as a 35% film. Any other questions just drop me a line and I'll be happy to help. Big AL
  14. ZF Auto, intitial rwkw was 271 from memory. Big AL
  15. I doubt I'll be able to make it on a week night, maybe next time. Big AL
  16. 42 - 2005 BF Typhoon. Big AL
  17. I could be interested in coming along. I might see if anyone from the FPV & XR Club would also like to attend. Big AL
  18. Hi All I should be ok for this one (cruise and karts), may have to confirm closer to the day though. Big AL
  19. Heading out to Willowbank on Sat night for our club drag challenge. It's too far to go twice and I'm not keen on sleeping in the car lol. Maybe next time. Big AL
  20. The last I heard the Gympie skidpan was closed to car enthusiast by the new management, not sure why. I've done a couple of skidpan days over the last 12 months @ Mt Cotton with SDT (including instructors), so as far as I know they are still available. The only thing is noise, the car must be below a certain level or you'll be asked to leave by the noise police (facility managers). Personaly I think skidpans are the most fun you can have with your pants on. I'm keen to go again. Big AL
  21. I'm just so used to driving on the M1 @ 110km\h that I thought it was the same, it looks the same. I'll be sure not to make that mistake again. At least it's only one point if I own up to being the driver, it could have been worse. Oh and didn't ya know it not speed that kills it's the sudden impact with a stationary object that does all the damage lol. Big AL
  22. Mate I was doing 111km/h in what I thought was a 110km zone (it's a three lane hwy for christ sake). I was not speeding 'cause for once I was on time. I was up that way again just last weekend and this time I saw the signs, but they are small. The fine is 5x what it would normally be 'cause it's a company car. I think I'll just take the rap and lose the 1 point and pay the $100 fine. It just annoys me that I got done when I wasn't intentionally pushing the envelope. "Oh well such is life". Big AL
  23. A big thankyou for the heads up I didn't get with regards the photo opportunity on the Hwy near the weigh bridge at Burpengary. Perhaps we could take up a collection to pay the $500 fine. Thanx guys really appreciate it. Big AL
  24. Big AL
  25. Well done Shazz, excellent work for a one handed photographer. Big AL
