  1. Plase do not overlook box sizes. Let's face it the R33 does not have much boot room to start with. I designed, built and installed car audio system for 5 years and my personal experience with Fusion is that they were aptly named... In othr words they were pretty crap.... Amps frying themselves, the subs were loud, sound quality was sh*t and the box sizes were huge... I am busy putting on my DJR 320 skirts today. After I finish I will run the subs through Bassbox for you. This will tell me which is better... What amp is she planning on running- Model (With RMS power). Does she want a sealed or ported box? 1 or 2 subs? On a final note. Most people skimp on the other parts required to get good sound. Think of it in the same terms as your car.. Buy a GOOD power supply with good terminals Replace the earth cable from the engine - chassis, chassis to neg battery terminal with the same size as the power supply.... Especially when running big power amplifiers...
  2. Update.. Chris (Rapid Industries) gace me a call this morning and it is all fixed.. Thanks Chris you are a champ. The problem was no fault of his or the kit... It all came down to the fitter ---> ME !! I had the bottom pipe upside down... What a DILL The bar has now been refitted and the rear bar also. Now all I have to do is the DJR 320 side skirts. Lucky they have the Left/Right stamped on those.. Or I might f*ck that up to... HA HA ... I am thinking of cutting up my standard grille and fitting oit so that the grille doesn't look like crap.... Thank you to all that gave me tips on the fitting.....
  3. Thanks for the tip. I will give it another try tomorrow...

    Central Qld

Hey Matt. I ahve sent you a few Pm's chasing those details. Have you had a chance to find them yet?
  5. I had previously purchased the Typhoon mesh with the FPV logo in it from ebay and I managed to get the details from the manufacturer from him... Hence the Fpv logo in it... The top grille and the GT bottom mesh cost me around $300 delivered. I had the F6 emblem removed form the upper mesh as I do not own a Fpv. I did not get the rear as I alrady had genuine typhoon mesh here. Although, I may consider getting it later on... I managed to fit the bar today and the Rapid cold side piping gave nothing but grief. No matter what I did I could not get the piping to sit far enough back to allow the fog lights to be fitted. I also had to remove the tray also...I ended up beaking two of the plastic clipss on my new bezels as a result..... GRRRRRR !!! NOT Happy !!!!! Anway I have attached a new pic of the bar fitted.. I am looking for plastic top grille section if anyone has one for sale.... I will forward you his details if you like.....
  6. Does anyoneknow where I can get one of those 888 grille badges with the boar? I would love to get one as I'd like to have something different...
  7. Just a bit of an update... I deceided to get off my bum today and fit all of the bits to my front bar. I recently (3 weeks ago) got the whol car resprayed. This included my genuine DJR 320 kit as well as my genuine BF GT/Typhoon bars. I have just fitted the grilles, insert, bezels and lights to the front bar and I must say that the custom grilles look horn. What do you guys think ????
  8. Is there any gain in getting a Atomic girdle? What is the difference between the two?
  9. Does a BA sump fit onto a FG F6 engine? Which girdle do I have to purchase? What modifications if any, are required?
  10. Could you please tell us wht this modification might cost? Can our standard units be retro fitted with the new wheels? Or is it a completely new turbo? Does this suit the standard manifold? Brad
  11. On a serious note...I would have to say Brian - BCL. A true pioneer in the develpoment of products for out T's.
  12. I have seen this happen an a BA F6.. I was told that it was from block flex... Do the FG F6 forged pistons have an inherent problem? Or is it a similar root cause?
  13. Hey Bosco, I tried to send you a PM but you cannot recieve messages????
  14. I have had many a slepless night thinking of that option... I have decided not to go down that path as once the factory turbo fails. I will replace it with an aftermarket and push harder.. Then I would be back at square one... I already have a new set of Koneski and I would be stuck with them if I took yours... Thanks for the offer anyway... Can anyone tell me what options I have for Big end and main bearings? I believe that a few people are using ACL Race Series... Are these the best option? I am still looking for recommendations for suppliers....
  15. Do you send your own pump down for modification?? Or do you just buy a complete unit ??
  16. I guess that you missed one of my previous posts... This now allows me to do a complete the build without rushing.. I have had the cams sitting here for over a year... I just hadn't installed them... Which site sponsors would you recommend? Thank you for you input.. It is appreciated...
  17. I'd love to.. But it is still a bit out of my price range... Through alot of discussion with friends and members, I have decidied to put the spare engine in to get the car running asap as I do 100km round trip for work each day. I am very limited for time as I have lent a car and I can only have it for 3 weeks... This does not give me enough time for a complete build. Hence the previous options... I have some good people helping me on the assembly and I look forward to use this opportunity to improve my knowledge also.. I have sourced another block and crank for the build for $100.. However I still need to source the parts required... Where is the best place to source these parts :- CP pistons? ACL race series bearings Ross balancer? What options do we have in regards to timing chains for the Twin cams? I will be sourcing a set of Argo rods off Steph.. I already have the Koneski pump gears, spare head and atomic cams for a bit of noise... Any suggestions?
  18. I have contacted Steph about the rods... I don't know if he still has any sets of pistons. I am unsure of the wear on the bores as he only has Standard sizes... I have considered this option also. But $7,800 is a about 3k out of my range... I just spent all of my spare coin on Painting the car... An I am on a VERY limited time table... So machining for new pistons is out... Option 1: So it looks like I will retain standard pistons, put in new rods, bearings, rings, girdle, balancer, oil pump gears and get the rotating assembly balanced... Option 2: A F6 botoom end which will not be much better... Option 3: Jam the spare standard engine in.. Pay for new gasket kit and fit.. These are my only options with my time frame and funds......
  19. I understand fully... I know that it is an uphill battle and it makes it even harder as I have just spent all of my coin on getting the car fully resprayed. I only picked it up on Friday.... My sentiments exactly... I considered a F6 short.. I already have a spare BA I engine... I may as well use it.. In all honesty I would feel better with bigger rods... Even if I retain the standard pistons to keep costs down.... What do you guys suggest that I do?
  20. Thanks you for the reply. If I have to spend more then so be it... I will not be travelling down this path (Blown engine)again.. I am still interested in getting a list of suppliers so that I can make the best decision... I would also be interested in parts from others projects that did not make it to fruition.. Or second hand short engine...
  21. I gave the old girl a bit of a poke today and threw a leg out of bed... I have a complete spare engine that will be he donor for the new power plant. I am not chasing huge power. I want reliability but I have a limited budget ($4000)... I am thinking of using Argo rods, Cp pistons, put in a girdle and studs and a balancer and get them balanced.. Could anyone please tell me the best and cheapest places to source the parts..
  22. Hi Spiro.. I know that you are a busy man, so I will keep this short and to the point.. Do you feel that there may be ramifications with running such huge power in this car? Is there a possibility that it may permanantly damage the chassis due to excessive torque twist? Have you strengthened it (Chassis) in any way? Brad
  23. Wow !! One reply.... Come on guy... Which kit?
  24. My car gos in for a full respray tomorrow and I cannot decide on which kit to put on it.. I have a genuine plastic DJR kit and I have ordered a st of Carbon DJR splitters to complete it.... I also have a genuine BF FPV front and rear bars, GT an Typhoon inserts with custom mesh and accessories to match both.. Either way I will use the DJR skirts... The car is Silhouette... What are your thoughts....
  25. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions please????
