I would agree that it will max out at around 400kw on 98. I think it starts to run out of puff a little at the top end and the fact that the turbo was replaced the week before I got the car suggest it wasn't liking that before too much. There was a little bit of shaft play in it and the oil feed line had been replaced with a in line filter one a while before that. Car only had 60k on the clock and the mechanic just put it down to the fact it was running fairly close to its limit. I might add also that my 11.0 and previous owners 10.7 second runs were on e85 and not 98.

Yeah I ran it back in January but it was a hot day, think it was about 32 or 33 degrees and we were watching the rain go around us so it wasn't the best conditions. Car went 11.0 but The previous owner went 10.7 last year in winter.

Sorry for the late reply. I pulled the jack out and checked the connections and it seemed to be fine so I'm pretty sure its the jack itself. I had my phone plugged in playing music and wiggled the join and if it was a dodgy connection I would have expected it to start working and then stop again but nothing happened. I have since just got a fm tuner and just using that for now. It's not the best quality but it'll have to do for now, it's just a short term solution. I'm planing on getting a mkii icc and installing that. That way I can just connect through bluetooth and play it.

So I've checked the setting and the only thing I could find was under audio<options<media volume<aux I tried adjusting that as I had it plugged in and playing. Had the volume at 35 and could hear more static than actually music. I even had to turn the ac off just to hear it that's how quiet it is. I tried resetting the audio settings thinking if there was a setting changed somewhere then that would fix it. Still nothing. Took the shifter surround off and checked that the plug wasn't half out or something stupid like that for the aux port and it wasn't. I guess the next thing is too check the connection in the back of the icc I guess? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys I just bought a fg f6 and the aux port isn't working properly. Can plug in my iphone with an aux cord and can't hear anything, I can turn the volume all the way up and you can only just hear the music, like you really have to concentrate to hear it. I thought maybe it was just the cable so I got one off a mate that had one in his car that he used everyday and it was doing the exact same thing. I've done a quick search and didn't find anything so I just wondering if there is a known issue with this? Also I was going through the centre console and found a plug in there and after talking to a couple people I believe it's for a iPod/iPhone kit? Is that actually for the iPod kit? And if it is I know it goes to a 30pin plug for the old iPhone 4 or older iPods. I have a quote from ford to get the iPod kit for $130 does anyone know where else I would be able to get it from. Also I went to jaycar to see if they sold that kit and the guy there said I could run into dramas using an adaptor for the 30pin to the lighting plug because he believed the lighting port doesn't have an audio out which is difficult to believe since people use a lighting charging cable straight into their head unit and they get sound out of it. Apart from my left and right feet, nope. At this point in time I'm taking it to palmyra drags on the 30th depending on how my clutch holds up over the next couple of weeks. Spend the money now and get quality mods. You say only want 330kw now but that always changes, trust me I know from experience so get parts that can handle more than just 330kw My suggestions is new intercooler kit (plazmaman or process west), 1000cc injectors, fuel pump and a tune. That should see you around the 300kw mark and satisfy you for a while. Then you sit back and wait for the mod bug to bite again and do the next round. Then you enjoy the car and wait for the mod big to bite again and again and so on. Good luck!!

Is there a reason you want 400kw? I've had my car running 350kw in my 6 speed manual for the past 9 months and its more than enough power for the street. infact alot people that I've actually spoken to suggest that 350kw is about the most you want for a street car. I've just recently put a gtx3582r on because the stock turbo failed and it was retuned and made 399.5kw on 98 but clutch was slipping so its now back to 360kw and that's with the stock exhaust, 1000cc injectors, valve springs, billet oil pump gears, plazmaman intercooler, cold side piping, custom intake, walbro 460 pump. So if you want 400kw I think it would make it, just depends on the tuner I guess. Like someone else said as well triple plate is probably a bit of an overkill.

Anymore info on the new turbos yet? Very interested to see how they compare to others in terms of price, power, spool and street/driveability. Surely someone has some info or dyno charts

I'm not overly concerned with heat but I just thought it would be a good idea to try and reduce it and if I'm going to do the dump I might aswell do everything. Considering I'm in far North Queensland it's probably a good idea I reduce the heat as much as possible, we have enough up here as it is. Will start calling around after new year when places start opening back to see what they can offer. If I do end up getting everything done I might make it into a like experiment type thing. Get the engine bay temp, intake temp and those sort of thing before and after see what difference it makes. Will even talk to the tuner and run it up on the dyno before and after its done. Exactly what he said ^^^^ Block off the BOV normally does the trick fairly well. Had a mate with a fg that did that and you could hear him coming from 50m away. Also bigger front mount and metal piping and you'll be dosing your little heart out. Dose pipe like the one pictured will do it aswell but you'll just be sucking in hot air and that's not really what you want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey guys just after seeing if anyone has any information on the different type of coating for exhaust manifold and dump pipe. Originally I was just going to heat wrap the new dump pipe when I eventually got it but after thinking about it a bit just doing the dump seems a bit like a half a job considering your exhaust maniflod and rear housing will still be giving off a fair bit of heat. I know you can get them ceramic coated but just wondering if anyone knew of any other types of coating that could work aswell. I'll never really looked into something like this so don't really have much information about it all. Also any thoughts you have on it would be great, like if you think there is no real advantage to or something like that or just doing the dump would be enough. Cheers guys

Yeah still standard exhaust apart from the cat. There is a high flow cat in there. I did see a 4 inch dump come up for sale a while ago and came very close to getting it but the guy messed around a bit and ended up giving up on it. Have thought about getting an exhaust but am wanting to keep it stock sounding. But if I see a dump for sale will more than likely jump on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Put it this way when the new clutch goes in its not leaving there with anything less than 400kw. But I'm not too worried, when I picked it up the tuner showed me one of the first runs with the new turbo and it made 440kw which was a little too happy for his liking. But with a surge and some e85 I should be back up there with no dramas. I hope I can stop throwing money at it soon.
