  2. Just a little update on the progress from the past 6 months or so. After about 2 months the new fuel pump failed on me. Was just driving along and then slowly started to loose power until the point where foot was flat to the floor and just nothing. Was put on a tow truck and straight the to workshop. Was lucky to catch the mechanic in there on a Sunday afternoon. Fuel pump was ordered and replaced couple days later. Got it back and it was all good. That pump last about 3 months until it started surging on me. Got a video of the fuel flow will upload if I can find it. After the second fuel pump failing I took it to another workshop to get the problem sorted out. So fuel pump was replaced and car was on the dyno getting retuned and the timing chain skipped a tooth. So while we had things off to do the timing chain I decided it would be a good time to throw in some valve springs and billet oil pump gear. Got that done and back on the dyno it went to finish up the tune. Was driving past the mechanics and thought I would stop in to see how it was all going. Car was pretty much done just needed to take it for a test drive then it was all mine. So I was standing there talking to the mechanic and the radiator decided it had had enough and decided to let go, just sitting there idling and it let go. It was at that point in time me and the mechanic both looked at each other and said what else can go wrong with this car. It was just one drama after another. After replacing the radiator I was given the car back with it still making roughly 350kw. Couple months later I start hearing another noise, like a really faint grinding noise. Which slowly turned into a not so faint grinding noise and then the high pitch whistle noise. After about a month or so I decided to actually confirm my suspicion and took my intake off to find there was that much play in the turbo it just wasn't funny. So back we went to get a new turbo. Gtx3582r order and arrived the next week. Dropped car of while I went to work for a week. Called him up the the day before I got home to see how everything was going and turbo was on and car made 383kw but it started to miss and break down a little on the top end so he suspected coil pack. Water pump was also very noisy so both were replace. Went in when I got home the next day and first thing he said when I walk in is I got good news and bad news. Which is probably the last thing I wanted to hear. Good news, car made 399.5kw and the bad news.... Clutch was slipping. So power was taken out till it stopped slipping so it's sitting at roughly 360kw till the new clutch goes in. So plans for the car next year are a new clutch, surge tank and put some e85 in it and see what else we can blow up!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah it's my daily car and it's a manual. Its fantastic to drive just so much fun when you put your foot down but then at the same time you can just drive around and no one takes a second look at me. Got pulled over for the first time in the car and they didn't even look at the car just blew in the bag and they were on their way. I have mates if they get pulled over it turned into a big affair with the boys in blue searching the car high and low. Nah I don't have a sheet at the moment, keep meaning to go see my tuner and get the sheet he has printed out for me. As for the drags we don't have a strip anymore here in Townsville and even before I got the work done it seemed like I was always at work when they are on. Plus I need to invest in some better tyres before I even think about going to the strip.
  4. Hey guys just thought I would share my little journey. Haven't always been a ford guy but have always been a turbo guy. I had always planned to get something like a wrx or r32 gtr and then got convinced by a mate how good the xr6t was. To my luck a friend of mine had an uncle that worked in a local dealership and there was a 2007 BF mkII ute Craig Lowndes editions and off for a test drive I went and that was it. Drove away in it a couple days later and haven't looked back. First modification wasn't too far away....... removing the turbo badge to fly under the radar. Not a major mod but a necessary one in my opinion. Next mod came about a month later with a evo prosport boost guage and a twin guage pod (still yet to decide on what the second guage should be over 6 months later) Was happy with the like that for about 4 or 5 months and then the real mod bug bit. Started looking at intercoolers and piping kits to get rod of the stupid cross over pipes from factory. Was only planning on chasing 280-300kw. Did the usually toss up between plazmaman and process west and decided I wasn't chasing huge number so the plazmaman would suit me and my budget better. So couple weeks later spec 2 street stealth black intercooler and cold side piping arrived in the mail and was installed the following night. Slight modification to the crash bar and ac pipe was needed to get the intercooler in but was done in one afternoon. Car was taken into the mechanics the following week to get injectors installed, battery relocation to the tube and a new intake built. Was informed my fuel pump may not be up the task but will see how it would go. Tuner estimated around the 280-300kw mark which suited me very well. Got a phone call couple days after dropping the car off and was imformed the car was very happy on the dyno and made 330kw but started leaning out and the run was terminated at 4500. So fuel pump was order and installed and car was put back on the dyno. The result was 349.1kw on stock exhaust and stock turbo on 15psi. Tuner says it was one of the happiest stock motors his seen in a very long so cant complain about that. No future plans for the car at the moment apart from just enjoying it.
  5. Hey guy im looking at putting an icc out of a bf fairlane sedan into my bf xr6t ute. Fairlane icc is dual zone climate control where as my utes has single zone, is this going to be an issue or is there a way around it or does it not matter? Also is the wiring all the same or will the wires in the plugs have to be changed? Is it easy enough to do or is it just a pain in the ass and not worth doing. If anyone has done this before or has some knowledge on this topic it would be greatly appreciated. I've tried to add a photo of the one I want to install not sure if it is actually going to work (first time posting)
